Modified our Z/28.

Drove it back from the dealer on May 22nd.

Dyno video.

Started modifying right away.

We installed BRAND NEW LS7 cylinder heads, CNC'd by our partners at LPE, then we are installing Titanium Manley severe duty Intake valves with Inconel exhaust valves. Stock head gaskets with ARP head bolts.

LPE GT19 camshaft, again all proven performance components that we have installed on Corvettes with the same engine.

And a C5-R timing chain again for added durability.

Along with a fast 102 intake, that will finish our initial package and will go on the dyno for tuning and calibration.

We also installed American Racing Long tube headers.

All dyno runs and numbers are with Shell 91 Octane fuel.

Cool project. Did you retain the stock catalytic convertors on this build?

We had a customer come in, see it and say "I'll take it!" We said "It's not for sale" He said yes it is!
He's a great long time customer so we sold it to him.

We've got a black one on order but it won't be here till later this month or early next.

I'll try to measure ground clearance but It's barely noticeable from stock.

We put it on the drive on and I took a few pics for you.

Hope these work for you.

That's the front tire in the pic.

As you can see they barely hang below the front subframe rails.

Hope that helps.

weld in a bung and reinstall them

I don't believe the downstream O2s are after the CAT therefore it doesnt know if they are there or not.

then the other question - does it matter if the CATs are removed?

are O2s getting smarter?

LS engines normally have 4 oxygen sensors; S1B1, S1B2, S2B1, S2B2? Left and right pairs both before and after the cats.

S1 sensors are used for closed loop programming. These are often in the cast iron manifold. These are required.

S2 sensors only check the catalytic converter status, and are after the cats. These can be removed.
