Possible Safety Concern with Lowered Vehicles and / or Aftermarket Wheels

Several members of the forum have started threads when they found interference between the e-brake cable and the rim and or a clicking noise from the e-brake cable and aftermarket wheels with inboard valve stem TPMS. There are a few failures of the the secondary valve stem making contact with the e-brake to the point the valve stem style TPMS has cracked causing air loss. Others report the e-brake cable rubbing against the inner barrel of the rim and wear down to the metal jacket on the e-brake cable.

These conditions can occur on lowered car and cars with aftermarket wheels with inboard valve stem style TPMS.

There are two solutions.

1. Start at the front of the vehicle and pull back the excess e-brake cable from the factory.

2. Using extra heavy duty zip ties pull the cable back from the inner barrel.

Here are the exiting threads:

If you have started a thread about this, please PM me the link and I will post them all here. This will give us a central location to keep everyone aware of the possible problems they may encounter when lowering their Camaro or adding aftermarket wheels.

No vendors should post ANY product information of any kind in this thread including Pedders. This is a community thread and not a commercial thread.
