Calling PHOTOCHOPPERS for ideas for a paint scheme. Anyone care to share ideas? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So here's the story...I'm getting my camaro sometime in the near future (possibly as soon as 6 moonths or sooner), and I'm trying to come up with a unique, but not over the top paint job.

The rally stripes are nice, the hockey stick and hood stripe are nice as well, but I want to stand out. I'm looking for anyone creative that would like to toss ideas around and help me get inspiration as to what my car will look like.

Rules:

Car's main color will be IBM.
Alternate color for stripes/pinstripes/design will be CGM.

I'm open to other colors, but I will only be looking at designs at this point and if you can render the car in the color combination above, it'll help me decide on which I like best.

I appreciate anyone's ideas and hope to find a concept to put my own twist on it and have it painted.

Btw, when ordering mine I got to see a IBM with silver stripes. I have to say those two colors looked good with each other.

Thanks for the compliment, and I know. IBM is such a nice color. That's why I want people's ideas. I don't want to do normal stripes, but I don't know what looks good.

my comp is waiting for my back home when i go for christmas, so i'll have Ps again in ~2 weeks

. if you want to throw some ideas out i can give it a try at christmas. and that's a good PS you did there yourself, nice job.

Anyone care to lighten up the colors a bit? I think the CGM needs to be a bit lighter and the IBM might need to be a shade or two lighter as well.

Looks like it could turn out really cool. My opinion, I'd forgo doing the stripe on the roof. Heck...I might forgo doing any stripes and just keeping it two tone so as not to keep it so busy. However, if you did anything, I DO like this design....but would probably only do it on the hood...

Here's a couple versions I did tonight. The colors are closer to the actual colors. I did one with and one without the stripe on the roof. I might end up with just IBM with the CGM stripes, but we'll see.

I'm digging the no roof stripe one more. Have you given any thought to a pin stripe?...like silver ice metallic to separate the two colors? Shoot...maybe that would be better (with the pin) if it were just top/bottom paint and no stripes.

Maybe we could get someone to do one like Pink's...with a two tone top bottom and a SIM pin. I know you probably don't want it, but I'm just curious...lol.

Better on the CGM, though...more realistic IMO.

SIM pinstripe. I just don't feel like making that right now in photoshop. =P
but yes, it would be a small pinstripe separating the two tone and also around the stripe
kinda like your blue around the SIM on your car.

But the question remains:

Stripe or no stripe?

Roof stripe or just hood/trunk?

that's a tough one, the roof stripe is a hot topic on it's own, some feel it doesn't belong on the 5th gen. sort of a personal preference i suppose; i've got nothing against it either way.

I would like to see the bottom half CGM and the top half IBM...no stripes.

And, IMO, that CGM is really dark in those pix...almost black. Not complaining, but think if you want a true representation, you'd need to lighten it up.

i've got PS again, but i'm bogged down as hell with school work and exams, i've got a Final Exam in Statistics in 9 hours

.. when i've got the time next weekend i'll take a pic or a real CGM car and photoshop it.

as for now, i've got the Dale Jr. already layered, so it's just a click of the mouse to change colors. here's a IBM/CGM with and without the stripes.

@ mindz/tag - i've never seen a CGM in real, so you guys can be this blind man's cane if what's here is a little bit too far off.

like i said, once i get the time i can do it with a true CGM pic, until then this is the best i can do.

looking pretty good. mind reversing the colors too? I'm showing my fiancee when I get home in about 45 minutes and she's REALLY pushing for cgm main body, and I kinda like the look of the top being IBM more and more.
