brand new Camaro has warranty history and work performed???

Need some insight from a wise member or even dealer who is in the know about how a new car sitting in the showroom at a dealership (never titled or registered) with 6 miles can have the warranty already envoked??

Below is the VIN of the 2SS/RS that I put a deposit on today and the printout of what GM global connect system states about the car... something smells fishy!

How can a new car with 6 miles in the showroom have issues repaired under warranty ?? Is this common?

It looks like service bullentins that they didn't take care of at the factory.

I was working on the heat at dodge dealer last year and they where putting head gaskets on an srt-8 challenger that never left the showroom floor. I ask the tech and he said they got a call from dodge to do it.

Unless something happened when it was being shipped...see if the dealer will knock some money off it...since it has a "history"............

he's already selling me the car below invoice, but it seemed to good to be true and then I uncovered this... guess that's why I'm getting the deal I am :-/

How can the onstar be activated, et al if it never sold? Is that performed upon warranty activation in GM's system? The head sales manager at the dealership mentioned that they would envoke the warranty with a new date when I purchase it...

As mentioned it just looks like service bulletins that they took care of to make sure the car doesn't have any issues. Sounds like a good deal to me!

Well if its a service bulletin, that's a relief. Thanks for clarification on this. I thought that the car's warranty was already envoked or something because the warranty date states 11/11/09.

Alot of C6 vettes had warranty work done before sold or titled...delamination of roof. Not a big deal, happens all the time. Better to catch it before it leaves.

i would personally think the warranty would begin once it leaves the factory, but thats just me. either way a few weeks wont make or break you. good luck with her!

spoke with the head of the dealership today and the service dept. The car was prepped for sale a month ago but the buyer couldnt get financing and the car never left the showroom. I was told that the dealership can reinstate the warranty as the car didnt sell and was not titled/registered.
