6L80 Trans-Brake?

Does anyone know any company making a trans brake for the 6L80. I emailed TCI, they said NO. Hughes and J.W. are a No and NO. I just emailed Bowler their site gives me hope that they have one.

Try contacting RPM Transmissions. They may have something. http://www.rpmtransmissions.com/

Mark Bowler is building me a bulletproof 6L80E. I forgot to ask about the transbrake. Could you please PM me if you find out. If not I will get a hold of him next week.

Like Windy said, you can check RPM. Last time I had spoken with them, they only had 4L80E/4L85E's.

Thanks !

P.S. Are you taking your car up to the C5Fest ?

Any update's?

I was thinking about swapping TCI's 6x auto in my GT500 but would only want to do it if it had a trans brake, if not I guess us racers will have to settle for the 4L80.

a transbrake for a 4l80e should work on tci's 6x.

the tci 6x is just a glorified 4l80e that has the overdrive kick in for two more gears to give more gear options, but still only one over drive

unless there is something i'm missing?

We ended up going with a 4L85E with transbrake.
The extra gears really didn't work for the SST.
Still haven't heard anything new about the 6L80E.

if you are putting down enough power to actually need a transbrake, you should just convert to a 4l80e/th400 anyways imho
