For those people who think they know everything about camaro's, here's a little bit of info you should know before you start trying to make a sale and telling your customer that there will be no Z/28.

Orrrrly? Sorry to tell you, and Motor Trend, GM has made no official announcement of a Z28. Maybe there will be but as it isn't announced, there is a possiblity there might not be.

So for anyone debating on holding off or buying now, just keep that in mind.

Nice first post though. And welcome to Camaro5, hopefully many more good posts to come.

BTW, did you have a dealer tell you something that caused you to post this up?

yep but the thread I posted yesterday has the new guy ahead of operations in NA stating he likes the Z28 when asked about future performance names. . .so old news but still some good news with in the last few days.

I was just thinking this afternoon on how they should make the next z-28.

personally I think they should make it the ultimate sleeper... All LS trim, no mailslot, even wheels similar to an LS maybe larger to fit larger brakes.. but basically an SS in sheeps clothing...with a little less weight and a little more power than an SS...
No badging, nothing to give it away for what it is... Until the competition finds it'self looking at the tail end...
Just an Idea I came up with... I know most won't like it but I think it would be cool...

cool aftermarket idea but do you really see gm doing something like that. I don't. I think they'll go for the CTS look back in the early years of the CTS. out on the edge, polorizing, but performs out standing. something that says HEY LOOK AT ME I'M THE BEST!!!!!!

that's just my personal opinion. although I always like taking a regular debadged camaro and whooping up on some people that think it's a v-6.

You idea would remind me more of the old COPO cars, many of them did look like 6cyl. versions but had a lot of great/powerful stuff on them. I would not mind a new Z/28 with great handling and a good power to weight ratio (LSA power would not be needed for my version), but I don't think that is what we'll see. Whatever they do, I hope they do it well because I really don't want to see a less than well done Z/28.

I do hope Motor Trend nailed this one. If Chevy brings out a 500+ hp Camaro for under the price of a Vette...WOW! I told my salesman to put me in line to get one if they do come out.

Glad I never said that - if anyone selling Camaro's would read GM memo's, the official statement, which had been standing OVER a year is "There are no plans for a Z28 at his time".
