Volant CAI

Has anyone tried this CAI yet? I have read about people getting one but no performance tests were found in search.

wildcatjake posted this info below to save you money.
"BTW, with the GIFT10 coupon code on autoanything, you can get it for $257 shipped to your door!"

Just got it installed yesterday. Here is the review.

After using the 15% off and free shipping deal at Autoanything on Black Friday, the unit cost me $257 and came with the Powercore 100K mile dry filter. Unit shipped earlier than they said it would, and got here in 7 days from Canada. Box was in good shape and the entire unit was packaged nicely. There were no "real" instructions, but there was a pretty in dept CAD drawing that showed where everything went. Install was about 15 minutes and only .75 beers. Very easy install. Fit is very good, and quality of the mold they used appears to be very good too. Tubing was smooth and everything fit well. Filter is unique, but flows very nice! If you blow on it, you can feel the air on the other end of the tube. You cant do this on a stock filter, or any S&B oil filter I have had. The only problem I had was a couple of missing hose clamps for the vacuum fitting on the elbow. Had a few of those laying around, so no big deal.

No dyno as of yet, but between the intake and the muffler delete yesterday, she pulls harder up top(by butt-O meter).

It is not the prettiest intake, but by no means an eye sore. Practicality was my goal for now, and this was by far the cheapest quality intake out there.

My grade is a B+. With....cost, appearance and performance being the criteria.

Thanks!! According to UPS mine should be here tomorrow. Same price and also was shipped earlier then expected. I also have the muffler delete and as soon as I get this installed, Lew from the Diablosports forum will be doing a custom tune for me that I will be able to use with my Predator programmer. I cannot wait!!!

The air box is a tight fit to all sides and front of the car to keep the hot air out and allow the cold air in. The filter is a big oval one like in the pictures below.

Maybe the next time you open up your air box you could take a pic. I just installed a Roto Fab but would like to see what this looks like inside. Volant sure looks clean from the outside, but lets see whats under the cover. Thanx

No you cannot. It is a one piece box. Here is a picture from the internet. It may give you a better idea of what it looks like. If not, I can take a picture of it off the car tomorrow.

Placed my order at autoanything this morning, I'll throw up a review once it gets here, try to get some install pics as well. I have the Volant with the Powercore on my 07 Silverado (paired with flowmasters and custom tune) and have been more than pleased with its performance for 40k miles now.

BTW, with the GIFT10 coupon code on autoanything, you can get it for $257 shipped to your door!

How is the tube intake under the filter? I'm wondering if it's radiused like many of the others.

The filter is bolted to the box/cover and the filter has a radiused exit to the tube coupler. I will get some better pics tonight if possible.
