Smile New Member Checking In .......

Hello Everyone!

I thought I would take a moment to introduce myself. I have been a member of the Western Michigan Camaro Club for nearly 32 years, and am the current Club President.

I have just recently taken an early retirement package from Delphi. I worked 28 years for GM/Delphi in the Skilled Trades.

I have been a DIE HARD Chevrolet enthusiast since I was 10 years old, and a Camaro owner since 1974.

We currently own 4 Camaros: 1974 Type LT-Z28 (currently undergoing a resto-mod), a 1985 IROC-Z, a 1996 Camaro SS and a 2002 Hot Rod Magazine Ltd. Ed. Camaro by Berger/GMMG. Bought them all brand new!

I'm looking forward to sharing my love of Camaros and Chevrolets with everyone here.

Hi Again,

Thanks for the warm welcome to the site!

Thanks for the compliment, Moose, I guess you don't see too many Berger Camaros out there? (Probably more of the Tom Henery Racing Editions.)

Killer, I would love to see your '74 BBC Z28 sometime!

Hi Joe,

Cool pics of your '67 Camaro! When you gonna have her back on the road?

We're doing a Resto-Mod on my '74 Z28, and hope to have it back on the road by Camaro Superfest, which is June 29-July1 at Riverside Park, in Ypsilanti.

Hi Luna.

Thanks for the compliment!

It looks like this is going to be a great place to hang out.

How would you like a little of our snow and ice, down there in Texas? We would be glad to share.

And thank you for the ice/snow offer, Doug. However I regret to inform you that you're about a week and a half late, we had our 2 glorious days of ice. But try again next winter!!

Same here. I really enjoy taking the pup for a walk at the park in the snow. I swear he's part Siberain Husky...he never wants to come inside when it's snowing.

Living here in west Michigan, we get a lovely thing called "Lake Effect" snow. When the cold air crosses Lake Michigan, all the snow dumps along the west coast of Mighigan. We typically get twice as much, or more, snow than they do in Detroit. It's supposed to get down to down to around 10 degrees here tonight. It's a balmy 21 degrees right now.

Our Camaros also experience somethihng here called; Winter Storage, that your Texas Camaros don't get to enjoy. But, since we only get to enjoy our Camaros about 9 months of the year, we really enjoy them when they're out!

Here in Michigan, SUV's are not any kind of status symbol, we need the 4 wheel drive just toget around sometimes.

Our Dailey Driver is a 2002 Trail Blazer LTZ.

That was one of the greatest trips the SS and I took. We took a "behind the scenes" tour of DEI, and had lunch in Dale's Trophy Room.

The SS and I also stopped a 'Richard Childress Racing'.
