Camaro, Me, I81 and the snow

I'll post some photos. If you are on face book Camaro5 you might be able to see them.

I have a V6 with the Stock tires but it did good but you have to know how to handle some fishtailing. I've had fun. But being on the go for more than 16 hours and up for over 24 hrs. I'm ready to get home.

That's what is heading our way today. That looked like a slow drive. Nice photo of the front of your car with the ice!

That is crazy! I grew up in Maine and now how to drive in this stuff, but it's the fools that don't know how to drive in the snow that scare to bejesus outta me! Hope you made it home safe mobilin!!

The roads here in Leesburg aren't fit for travel yet. I took the wife's car out, she has all wheel drive, and it was down right scary!!

Will drive in the rain, but ice and snow are not in Cruzn's dictionary unless I'm driving my truck like I have to tonight. Black ice and snow ontop, time to practice some drifting for camaro5fest in April!

Yeah I would pee myself driving my 2ss in this snow. One of the worst I have seen here in DC in a long time, especially for December.

Yesterday was fun getting the cars over the warehouse, inside nice and warm. Not sure when I wil be able to drive them again. We don't do installs..so having our shop area tied up in not a big deal.

I have been crazy but I wanted to get home to my family before Tuesday which if I had stayed in Charlotte, NC and waited for the roads to get cleared between there and Front Royal, VA I would still be waiting as bad as some of them where/are. They would be a sheet of ice today/tonight.

The Camaro did a really good job in the snow with the stock tires on. I haven't owned a rear wheel drive car since I was 16/17 which was a '74 Nova with a positive traction under it. I would say the Camaro did as good as of job as that. I did fishtail a few times when I would tap the gas or taking a curve.

It was the best adrenaline ride I've ever had. I got up on Friday morning around 6:30 AM and didn't get to bed until Sat night around 10:30 PM. I tried to have a 30 min nap Sat around 6:30 AM but didn't get a long one because I was worried they would get traffic moving. (I had my wife call at 7AM to make sure I was backup.) No roller coaster will ever compare.

Thanks for the other photos!

Its nice to hear the car does good in the snow. I guess most of us might think your nuts driving in that stuff. Then you see posts from our Canadian Camaro brothers who do it routinely.
I know i've ridden my Harley in driving rain storms for hours, just wanting to make it home. So I can relate. I know people thought that was crazy to. (Maybe we're both a little nutz!!)

Hey man! Looks like you had some fun. Can't say I would have been driving mine in the snow though. She is all covered up and warm in the garage; just waiting for a nice warm winter day or springtime (whichever comes first). I was however out in the snow like you. I was stuck in San Francisco. All flights into DC were cancelled. Finally, I just decided to fly to Pittsburgh, rent a car (4WD) and drive from there to VA. Landed Saturday night around 10 pm. Picked up a NICE Chevy Suburban from Thrifty and went plowing through the snow. Stopped to grab about 3 hours of sleep and finally made it to Dulles airport around noon on Sunday. Then finally home by around 1 pm. That's pretty much no sleep from Friday until Sunday night. Long weekend! Glad you made it home safe and sound.
