inside of 2010 Camaro A6 muffler not straight flow through design

here is the inside of the muffler off a 2010 camaro 2ss A6 we pulled the stock exhaust off and put Corsa in its place
we got curious and had a little time on our hands and cut it open here are the results
as you can tell the mufflers are not a straight flow through design and it does have a packing inside it

Yeah, its been well known for sometime now that the LS3's and L99's have different mufflers. The L99 mufflers are designed to deal with the AFM noises.
That's also why the LS3's exhaust note is a little more aggressive. Stock
L99's are extremely quiet.

With those not having straight through wouldn't MagnaFlow 3" with mufflers and X pipe increase your hp.

That is one crazy muffler design. Just think about time and effort that went into designing that.

really? thats interesting and gives me some hope because many have said it does nothing for power. You would think a straight through system would give SOME power after looking at those photos.

I don't see it being restrictive at all. If the stuffing area has a perforated pipe that runs through it, what's restricting it? That branch off pipe is just diverting some of the exhaust to quiet it down. It can't be more than a foot or two from the tail pipe.

We've had several vendors, including Ted Jannetty that has confirmed that a axleback gives absolutley zero HP gains in the SS period. He never said A vs M but i'd assume he would delinate between the two if there were a difference.

designing the L99 with AFM and avoiding a gas guzzler tax and getting great mileage, then designing an exhaust so you don't hear the difference between V4/8 does sound like a horrible waste of time. GM is so dumb!!
