ACS Composite

I have been reading the forum for the last year or so but just recently joined under ACS Composite, I begun posting a few weeks ago to answer some quick questions but never really made an official introduction.

Most of you are probably not familiar with ACS, Advanced Composite Specialties, we are mostly a private label manufacturer, basically a behind the scene company manufacturing hoods for car builders and performance car companies.

Our experience comes from building over 50 000 hoods for the OEM market. We are not only a composite panel manufacturer but specialize in hoods. Our process is RTM, Resin Transfer Molding. It is very different than conventional fibreglass as it involves large presses, injection equipment and different materials. In a nutshell dry continuous glass is placed in a 3000+ pound temperature controlled tool and liquid catalyzed resin is injected. Every single parameter from glass content, resin formulation, temperature, pressure and flow are controlled and repeated for every cycle. The process has many advantages but mostly will deliver high quality panels that will withstand temperature fluctuations. A series of robots are used for post operations and finally we will prep and prime each panel to ensure its finish. No in-mold gel coats are used in our process.

We have been very fortunate to work on various OEM programs and are very familiar to strict quality standards and validation procedures. Our process has qualified to meet GM and Fordís OEM standard for durability and finish. The same process used on these programs has been carried over to a series of panels we build for the C6 Corvette and now for the Camaro. We are very excited with the return of the Camaro and look forward to many product launches in the coming months.

The forum is a great resource; it was a pleasure to meet some of you at Sema and the Dec Montreal Meet. Hopefully Iíll be able to contribute to the group by answering questions or comments about composites.

Iíll also take the opportunity to wish you all Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!

Can you gents throw on a couple of pictures of 5th gen Camaro hoods you make? Your website doesn't have any.

Unless your hoods are still secret prototypes..............

We are a dealer for ACS products and have the functional splitters in stock.

They are typical ACS high quality with OEM fit and workmanship. You'll be seeing them on Nickey Super Camaros very soon!

Thank you Nickey,

Nickey is one of our stocking distributors.

Over 50 splitters have been shipped in the last 2 weeks, I'd expect a few forum members to be posting soon enough.

Between paint and install I'd expect to see some online this week !
