I know i'm late to the party -- but...

I have used "Chrome" spray paint before. I sanded out any rough spots, primed, then "chrome spray painted" the armrest from my 65 impala. I tried both the Duplicolor Chrome, and some other brand. Neither were anywhere CLOSE to looking like chrome. I'd say it was a bit shinier than silver spray paint. And it scratches easily. It would have gray line on it when i rand my fingernail across it (completely dry!). The cap is NOT sprayed with the paint inside the can, ha!

I tried both 'thicker' coats and more thin coats. thin coats were better.

I put a couple coats of clear coat spray on after to protect it. This helped the scratchiness, and didn't really change the look.

If you want a chrome look, you are going to be disappointed with this. If you are ok with a little shinier than silver, give it a shot.

Engine covers are looking good!

I bet one of the Chevy V flag emblems would look good mounted where you have that disk.

Cool, like one of these? I had been thinking along those lines for adding them down where the Chicklets would normally have gone.

Skyman, that's it exactly! I didn't think about the chicklet area. That's why I love this site...I have one in black, but just might have to alter my plans from the engine cover to the chicklet area OR on the left rear side or trunk area opposite of my RS emblem! I'll have to check out the spot when I pull off my cover later this week.
