I didn't buy the vinyl, my friend had some left over from his car, and he gave some to me. But you can buy them from any arts&craft shop, print shops, and I saw some at some automotive accessory shops too! =D

I used Rust Oleum Engine Enamel which is good to 500*. It seems to be holding up real well. Had it on for over a week and took it on a 400+ mile round trip this past weekend. I have also heard other on here post that they used the plastic paint and it has also held up.

I ordered the spray cans from paintscratch.com. They have a kit designed for plastic that comes with an adhesion promoter, base and clear coats (getting IBM and SIM). It was pricey, but should be an exact color match. Has anyone else used this for their covers? Hopefully it will hold up to the heat.

Everyone's various instructions are listed through-out this thread. I used Krylon Fusion, meant for plastic.

I see you used an adhesion promoter. Did you have to do any sanding beforehand, as many on here have done, or was the promoter enough?

does your paint still get tacky when warm? do you suspect the primer or the paint is actually the cause of that?
