I would like to know the same hehe. Also what kind of clearcoat did you use? Yours look to have more of a shine then some of the others.

I designed the mediallion and then shipped the model off to china and had them custom machine it for me. Unfortunatly this is a one of a kind item, I would love to make some more but don't have a license to sell GM related items.

As for the clear coat I took it to my paint guy who did my stripes. So there are 2 coats of SIM and 3 coats of clear. However it doesn't matter what type of clear you use, make sure you put 2-5 coats on and then use a hand glaze and polish it to get that extra shine.

Cool, Heres my IOM engine cover. For those that are interested this is the factory GM painted cover. I had them throw it in when I finalized the deal on my NEW ride.

Its reflection. Flash was on and reflected off the chevrolet emblem. I would die if it was overspray. LOL

Unfortunately it may be overspray, the camera sometimes will pick up things you cannot see with your eye, especially when you use a flash.

Oh OK. As long as my eye can't see it then it must be OK.

I hear ya on that one. It was kind of bland. This one is definitely more unique.

Did you clear coat the black or did you leave it original?

I clear coated the black on the engine cover but not on the intake box. Didn't want all of it to be glossy but really like how it brings out the black on the engine cover.

It looks awesome.

No, I did not sand the black before putting on the clear coat. If you sand it even lightly it will show every sand mark on it. Just clean the black portion and a light coat of clear. Different story if you prime and paint. You would lightly sand it. I wet sanded in between coats of primer and paint (on the painted portions).

Krylon has the same ingredients as the paint you order and that is what I used to finished with a Krylon clear coat. I have not seen any problems so far as heat affecting the finish.
