Interior trim kits?

Does anyone know if these trim kits that GM is selling are double sided tape and glue on.....or are they screw/snap in like the factory trims we will be taking off.....thanks.

i think they replace the existing trim, are you talking about the door panel trim and the dash strip?

Yes.....the door and dash strips.....theres a how to video on this site on taking the doors apart and the factory door trims look screwed on.....I hope these new ones screw on too.....but read somewhere that they are taped/glued on.

They are fastened by plastic rivets just like the ones already in the car. When you remove the old trim pieces you will have to break the rivets so be sure to stop by your local chevy dealer and get some new ones first.

Mr draco are these rivits camaro specific or will they know what Im asking for at the GM parts counter....thanks

I'm not sure so you're better off telling them at the parts counter what they are for. You may get someone who knows what you're talking about and you may get someone one who doesn't.

The new panels are factory heat melted to attach, not riveted. The supplied install directions state to grind away the factory heat melting and drill the remaining portion of the post to accept the fasteners supplied in the doorpanel kits. Hope this clears things up.

The old panels have the plastic rivets you grind off. The replacement kit comes with screws the go in where the old rivets were. Very simple process. Everything comes in the replacement kit - nothing else to purchase.
