The SS should almost certainly be cheaper, however I'd imagine the Roush will be much lighter and so will be able to overcome its small power deficit. All in all the Roush might be able to take the SS, but for the extra money the Roush would cost you could easily mod your SS to dominate it at the track.

I think everyone agrees... For the extra price you're paying for the Stage 3 Roush, you could take that money and make an SS that would destroy the Mustang. As in many of the other threads you're comparing N/A vs S/C. Put forced induction and an upgraded suspension on the Camaro with the money you save and it's no longer even an argument.

i could put about $6000 into a twin turbo and get about 600 horses, and still have $15000 left for suspention

That roush is a good mid 12 second car
I was driving my g/fs 01 GT on the freeway one day and one of those roushs came up next to me. We both shifted into 3rd and he left me like I was parked. Dude mustve been doing 140+ by the time I hit 110 |

I looked at some Roush Mustangs this last weekend. The cheapest stage 3 I saw was $48,000 and that was on sale. That was at Lance Cunningham Ford here in Knoxville. I think the other stage 3s were in the low $50,000 range. I think the 427-R Trak PAKs were in the $60,000 range.

My sister just got a Roush. Supposedly they were going in to look at a Shelby (350 I think) The dealer was out of them and pointed to the Roush. Well, I'll let you guys know what happens in about 9-10 months. The suspension is going to be the real plus on the Roush. I agree with most here with a few thousand bucks you can have a Camaro perform much better than a Roush.

the mustang might just be the only car in the world, that looks worse, with the more upgrades you put on it.
the roush is a great example. |

technicallly it is my brother in law who just got the Roush with the 427R pak (not the stage 3). The tag shows 427 HP and 391 lbs/tq. I think he said it was like $32K in options
. I didn't go for a ride, but I think I'll take my chances with the SS. It will need suspension, and headers and exhaust, I think the SS can at the very least hang with it. The shift pattern on the Roush though, was so small, you only moved it like an 1 1/2" and you were in the next gear. Very machined and metallic. I liked it, but I am so used to my VW with very little resistance.

You dont know what the other guy had in goodies. Maybe he pushed a nitrous button? buddy of mine had an 84 5.0 with nitrous and it was a huge boost in power, but still a stang, and still a turd. "you can polish a turd as much as you want, all you end up with is a shinny turd!" |

STOP this thread should of been shot and the horse drop after the first Flawed Post.
NO! Stop comparing apples to oranges this is silly. There are 2-3 well known shops making things like the Ligenfelter SS's. That's what you put up against Roush. OP.. cut down on your bong hits. |
