How long do you stay at 1100?

OK i placed my order on 11/20
My order is STILL at 1100.
The car is nothing special, just a 2LT with a moonroof, not even the RS package. I contacted my dealer today and he told me he has plenty of allocation, and GM just hasn't taken the order yet.

So after 7 weeks, am I just unlucky, or is my dealer lying to me? I know an order can sit at GM for a long time for various reasons, but what would be the huge delay in GM just picking up the order?

The time spent at 1100 is controlled by the dealer, not GM. If a dealer has allocation and "places" the order, your event code changes to 2000. Until that time, you stay at 1100. Make sure you stay in contact with your dealer regarding allocation.

Well I had a weird scenario.....

I placed the order on 12/9/2009 and I was at 1100 according to dealer, camarotracking.com and the camarotracking.com email alerts up till today. Now I suddenly jumped to 3000, according to the camarotracking.com email I received today.

I feel like its so frikking random before the order status gets to 3000. I am glad I am at this point, because I was thinking I may have to wait till I get to 2000 and then on and on.

If they are telling you that they have allocations and GM just isn't picking up your order, they are lying to you.

On another note..........I see that you ordered on 11/20, so this could be a bigger problem i.e. dealer is shaftin you.

I would try to see if you can get your money back, and re-order or find a car through CamaroScotty or Becky. Both of them are awesome, I have asked so many questions to either of these 2, and I am not even buying the car from them. If I had found the site earlier, definitely woulda ordered from either one of these dealers.

On the subject of allocation, besides your dealer telling you if they have it or not and running the risk of them lying to you, is there any other way to find out if the dealer has allocation?

crooks, you would think if the dealer was up front and honest saying no we do not have them at this time and not give you the BS then more people would stay with that dealer. cuz once the buyer finds outs they are been dicked around, the dealer loses the sale.

Order placed on 11/20, Got this response from my dealer on 1/7, after asking if he has allocation and if i'm on a waiting list. I'm still at 1100

There is no reason, unfortunately they close the factory around the holiday and that is definitely holding back production. I have plenty of allocation so that is not an issue. Hopefully it will get picked up sooner than later.

If you're still at 1100, i'd start asking around at another dealer. I placed mid december and just got my 3000 update from camarotracking.com. They did shut down their stuff for a couple of weeks, but it's definitely back now.

Greetings 1008COM,

I live close by to you in Wakefield. If you don't mind me asking where did you order your car? Being still at 1100 is a dealer allocation issue. HE HAS NONE! You need to find a new dealer pronto! I know a good, reliable, honest dealer in the area. No BS, no stories. If you ordered your car on 11/20, it should be on it's way to you by now, or you should even have it by now.

I hit the send button too soon. Sorry....

I ordered mine on July 20th. My dealer told me he didn't have allocation until Aug 1st. He had told me all along (since MAy) if I ordered the car, he would sell at list. He told me it would take approx 11 weeks to get to him. Never waivered from his promises. I recieved my Car in Sept. As promised.

sailfan26 i'm curious which dealership is the good one you are talking about? I don't want to say which one I'm dealing with just yet, just in case they do come through for me in the end (however unlikely that is).

I say move on and get a new dealer...they are lying to you if they had allocations then you should have gotten your vin by now...i waited about 2 weeks (from order date) before i moved up to 2000 and my dealer had allocations...keep checkiing with your salesman every week for updates...if you dont keep bothering them you will just sit there forever...I say talk to one of the dealer on here...

Greetings and Good Evening and a special hello to the Boston Area Members.

If your looking for a great dealer. Honsety and integrity. Lannan Chevrolet on Winn St in Woburn. Ask for Ed Shine, he's the dealer's Camaro Specialist. Lannan has been around forever. Ed is a great guy. He knows the car inside and out. History and all. As a matter of fact they have inventory of Camaro's. 4 last I saw. Check them out.

I haven't heard the greatest things about Lannan over the years. But we'll see. I'm looking for a pretty specific set of options so I'll check out their stock.

I ordered mine on 11/10 and am still at 1100 as well. My dealer got an allocation at the end of December, but no dealers can put them through until Jan 11th at 6:30 AM. No orders have been going through for the past 2 weeks because the plant has been closed.

I don't see how that can work. If GM gives a dealer an allocation isn't that basically saying "give us an order". It doesn't mean they will start building it immediately but that it will be placed into the production queue.

I may be wrong about this (could a dealer correct me if I am) but shouldn't a dealer be able to SHOW you on their computer that they HAVE the allocation available and assigned to your order?

Yes but GM gave away quite a few allocations just before the plant shut down, giving dealers in some cases a few hours to place the order. In my case the dealer had two days, but wasn't notified until the plant was shut down.

Even though he has had allocations since the shut down of the plant, he cannot do anything about it until Jan 11th. My order number is already in the system, it just has to be processed.

Still though, my order was placed on 11/20, so my dealer couldn't have had allocation from day one. And the whole reason this is a big deal is because I want my topped off card earnings, even if my order gets placed tomorrow.

Not knowing the intricacies of the GM ordering system I guess it could work this way. Dunno still weird. I mean the whole system on the computer. It's not like they have to wait for someone at the plant to get back from vacation to staple the order and allocation together. On a brighter note, if your dealer is that specific with the date then there is a much lower chance that they are trying to stall with BS.
