Also keep in mind the 370 debuts this year with probably 340hp and a curb weight of 3,100lbs. It will give the SS a run for its money.

Yeah it will! Not to mention it's also more aerodynamic.

Which car is in the same price range as the 350Z? The V6 or the SS?

I think you need to compare dollars to dollars.

350z (probably about the same for the 370z) is priced about what we think the SS will be 28k-36k (NISMO is a special edition and doesn't count)

I guess it can be considered competition but its a 2 seater not a 2+2. It gets compared alot to the RX8 but again the 8 is a 4 seater with 4ish doors so even less comparable.

Wouldn't the Z be compared to the Solstice Coupe GXP? Or even a Z4 coupe (luxury vs non though).

Look on page two under the competition and you'll see that GM targets the Z specifically as its competition. The SS will stomp the current one, and the V6 will likely scare the $h!t out of them, but when the 370 debuts, the SS may have a little bee stinging her @$$. A race between the SS and a 350 would be boring, but the V6 would be something I'd like to see.

ill take the Camaro SS over the 370 for a few reasons.

A. Most races are from lights, where the Camaro's Torque will dominate and the 370 wont have a chance to take it back on the high end.

and for drag....

99% of guys serious enough to do Drag w/ their SS are going to have an LS3. which means 6 months after buying the car, it will be putting out -+500 hp.

SS domination.

Isn't this 370z thing supposed to start at $32k+?

And watch it with the insults and names, please.

That's a pretty big statement. We always know that GM cars are underrated. When they say 350Z has 306 HP, usually it has 306 HP, not a single hp more. But if I remember correctly, people dyno'ed their brand new Z28 or corvette, and was surprised with the HP/tq numbers. I am saying that 350Z will give the new V6 camaro a good run for it's money but the 370Z will be faster than the V6 camaro. SS = way faster than either 350Z or 370Z.

Right now 350Z starts around 28K and I think they are going to bump the pricing of the 370Z atleast 30k+ ... so, it's only competitor would be SS. Nismo Z was special run of 1500 and only made on the 2008 year. There will NOT be another Nismo 350Z production (maybe limited no. Nismo 370Z in future)

Street racing is very dangerous and I have never raced anyone on the street. I may have revved or pushed the throttle a little on the highway but on the streets (residential area) , NEVER!!

dont think the caddy engine is overrated and the Z is way lighter... which makes me wonder how much the 6 maro is going to cost since the caddy is mid 30s... i think 26 but we'll see

maybe 24 or so that will be a deal for a 6 engine like that; the camaro looks pretty good i admit

Dude, "fbody father or whoever that is" works for GM, and is one of the big dogs that is bringing the Camaro back. BTW, it's Fbodfather... aka Scott Settlemire.
