Amp Inline fuse blew

Was running my system tonight, cranked up the volume to about 30 on the HU and the amp turned off. Upon further inspection the Fuse blew, the inline fuse from the battery to the amp.

Im running (2) 10" Alpine Type R subs, 500RMS each=1000RMS total, with a Alpine PDX 1.1000 amp.

******** supplied the fuse and install kit, could it be the fuse was to small? If not why would it blow?

What size fuse do you have?

I have a 30 amp fuze near the battery on my 2 PPI art series amps. I think I might be pulling 300 watts.

300watt/12volts = 25 amps

I've only ever blown the fuse when on my old car that the mounting screw for the amp touched the coil slightly for the subwoofer, so I was shorting out the system. I kind of doubt your system has a coil, and probably has built in crossovers.

However ever you cranked the system, and something carrying the positive current (speaker wires, amp power wires, etc..) was able to touch a metal part of the frame, this could cause the direct short like this.

The fuse size is 60 amps from the battery to the amp. However the Amps own fuses has a (4) 25amp fuses.

I am 100% positive nothing is grounding out,

Your amps have 100A worth of fusing and the fuse is only 60A. Simply put, the amp pulled more current on peek demand than the fuse could supply and it blew. Your cables are short so you should be able to put in a larger fuse without worry. A cap is also beneficial because it acts as a buffer between the amp and power source and will help stabilize the voltage in the system.
