LS V6 Guage Package

Received my guage package. This is a real easy installation. Instructions from GM were good. Just make sure you order the correct package because the engine and transmission pairing does make a difference.

The harness plugs into the orginal on the passenger side behind the console trim panel. Very easy to get to. You unplug the orginal and plug in the harness supplied with the kit in line. No pic the job is all ready done. It took me a total of an hour to do and I took my time.

Do you have a final picture. And what part number did you order for your LS? Is yours auto or stick? Thanks Brad

I'm very interested in this. What is the correct part number? Is your LS automatic?

For Starts tmigala, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

Above is the instruction sheet that came with the guage kit. The part number I got for the V6/automatic was: 92247189. I odered from www.crateenginedepot.com My sales person was Tom who even called to get the VIN to make sure he sent the correct part kit. The final looks just like what it would look from the factory pictures to follow.

One other thing, I did not use the "Special Service Tool J42059" to remove the 12v socket from the bezel. I used a pair of channel locks a lightly squeezed the 2 tabs and pushed the one side up. Then I took a small flat screw driver and worked the other tab loose and up. If you mark up the old console it doesn't matter because you are replacing it with the one supplied. Any more questions?????????

I believe they are making a version for all the possibilities. When you oder make sure you get the correct one for your engine and transmission package. To be safe give them your VIN #

... very nice !! It looks like the console side is snapped in place... is it a simple "pull-off" and "snap-on" set-up?

Yes thats all. I took it fairly slow just to make sure, but the side panel came off and went back on without an issue.

ladysman07 PM me about a point that I forgot to mention. When you place the guage panal into the new bezel there appears to be no included hardware to hold it in place. Not having a parts manual I did not know what or if GM used anything for this purpose. If you install the bezel without securing the guage pack to the bezel it moves around in the mount. What I did was use 2 clips that screws can be screwed through on the end of the bezel where they could be placed to hold the pack. On the other end clips would not work so I used 2 couple of blind nuts that where enclosed in rubber (from my Harley windshield). That did the trick. Like I said I do not know what GM does to hold the pack in place. Nothing mentioned in the instructions or hardware provided.
