Heck yea is right, but that's pretty hard to believe. 12.6,...some guys need mods to get a time like that. Was it a manual or auto?

Bet you he has a tune at least if not 1-2 bolt-ons also. People do this all the time and say it is a 100% "stock" car. Remember, everyone pretty much has their own definition of "stock".

If Im not mistaken they are a poster here on the boards. The car was to used to put down a base line before any mods were done to the car. The company wanted to see what the car would do before they got a hold of it.
EDIT-yep they are a poster if you go to the fastest 1/4 mile times on page 8 post 190 its user name 2quick. Last edited by Hesh; 01-15-2010 at 10:29 AM. Reason: add info |

It is a baseline for the products the company will be making for the 2010 camaro. Why in the hell would they want to secretly mod the thing and make the products they are selling look less effective?
Also...the trap speed isnt out of the norm of what has been seen before. A 110-111 trap speed with a decent 60ft will get you a 12.6 all day. |

I think it was mentioned in another thread that there was a DA of like -2500 ft or something crazy like that. So it is possible, look at the top ls3 vette 11.7x bone stock. Now I know the weight differance but theoretically the camaro with a 150 lb driver should be able to hit around a 12.4 stock. Will it happen who knows.

I think a 12.4x E.T. is possible from this car stock under the right conditions.

That's the worst drag racing video I've ever seen. Who goes to video tape a car racing and then turns the camera away from the subject to focus on the results of the run? They should have just posted the time slip as the video is useless.

With that burnout I'm guess drag radials too. Stock tires don't do well with a burnout. I know, I just tried it last weekend. 9 runs and the ones with burnouts were far worse then the one without a burnout.

Here's a video of the car while at the track. You can the stock tires and the black crap from doing burnouts at the track.
I wasn't there so I can't say anything for a fact. But his 60' time is very common for guys running the stock Perellis. I've also seen some pretty impressive burnouts on the stock tires. Why they do such a burnout on the stock tires I don't know. I do a short dry burnout (stay out of the water) and pull easy 1.9x 60' times on the stock Perellis.

If the Corvettes best is a 11.7x at 3250 lbs and roughly every 100 lbs is worth a tenth of a second. Well in therory that means a 12.4x could happen! A 12.61 wont be the record by the time this year is done.
