Okay, so here is the scoop ... I hate the fact that there is a key hole in the door, so I went ahead and ordered part #92233091 10485f-Cover .... you maybe asking yourself .. self, what is this? Well, basically its the cover that goes over or I should say replaces the one that this there now. Everybody has one, just look at your passenger side door handle. There is one on there now. So this way, I don't have to see that ugly silver keyhole.

Now, I know what your thinking ... your thinking, well Butterfingers, if you for what ever reason lost or battery went dead on your remote, how would you get in? Well, I'm glad you asked. You would simply ... wait for it ...... wait for it ..... call On-Star ... Taa-Daaaa. See, simple.

This is the best fix for this issue and I know I know, there are those sticker like key hole fillers, but that just looks like as* to me.

The cost is $13.23 and will be here in about 5 days.

I went with a SmoothLock to cover the keyhole.

I believe he was talking about the battery in the remote. But I s'pose OnStar could... call a tow, call a cab, keep you company while you wait?

The tow guy (that Onstar called, and kept you company while you waited for him) jimmies your door and you pop your trunk for a jumpstart.

To change it out is simple, you first removal of the key lock assembly ... when the door is open, you will see a round black plug ... pop that out and then you will need a torque wrench to unscrew the bolt and this will remove the handle assembly. Once removed there is a locking bar as you are facing the lock, take that out and then reassemble and BAM!! Bobs your uncle, your done.

So what you're saying is you have to open the door to remove the cover for the keyhole. So if your car battery goes out you're still boned. I was thinking you might be able to just pop it off as I didn't realize there was such effort going into installing it.

Okay, here is the deal ... this is car # 25 for me and 90% all had keyless entry and not 1 ever had an issue where the battery was dead on the REMOTE or the car. So this ever being an issue .... slim to nadda.

But this will only be a simple and temporary fix for I am on the look out to retool my doors to have the concept handles installed.

I give it about 6 months and there will be a modification for it. If the battery on either the REMOTE or the car goes dead between now and then, well it would be a first.

Good point. Wait, no. In 25 years of owning cars this has happened all of... wait for it... zero times. Even the one time my wife left the lights on all day, there was still enough juice to unlock the doors.

Oh, and hey, if this happens to you a lot... call OnStar and they'll call a tow for you. Ta daaaa!
