Window tinting and window indexing

So I have a question that just hit me. I want to get my windows tinted when I get my Camaro. I have read that you need to keep the windows rolled up for a period of time while everything cures out. Since the windows index when you open the car doors how do you keep the bottom of the tint from peeling off? Also how does the installer install the tint since when the door is open the window will be partway down?

I know its a odd question but I have never had indexing windows before.

Cheers

The window tint installer flips
the switch/mechanism on the door
while its open and the windows
roll all the way up. When you get
your windows tinted just try not open
your doors a lot.

I had no problems with my tint either, if you have a quality installer, they will be familiar with self-indexing windows. Most of the higher end cars have this feature for years.

With cars that have indexing, we have to make sure to get the film well below the inside weatherstripping because we know the windows are going to get rolled down every time the customer opens the door. Basically, we'll use a heat gun to thoroughly dry out the film on the bottom part of the window.

The rearmost corners of the Camaro do have a tendency to catch, and will sometimes peel the film up, but installers that do a lot of Camaros learn to make sure the film goes well below this area. If it does peel up, it's no biggie, just a quick re-tint with the film cut a little longer.
