By the way, nano-construction has applications ranging from micro circuitry (well, nano circuitry) to creating a new class of super-materials. They built this car by removing parts from another and installing them onto this. The fact that it can do wheelies is a really cool bonus.

Federal Grants pay for this kind of thing, so it could be possible that our tax dollars are going to Rice University and paying for their research. Not saying thats a bad thing, just pointing it out.

The reason they are making nano-cars and now nano-dragsters is simple. Nanotechnology doesn't just levitate or hover and slide to where it needs to go. So they need to develop a means for the fixers to get to their destination. Think of it this way, this nano-dragster is the equivalent of a doctor getting in his Ferrari and driving to the hospital to perform surgery on a patient. The car is one type of nanotech and the doctor is another. But they have to work together to get to where their needed and fix whats wrong.
