Silverado or Cobalt?

Alright, I'm at a crossroad. I'm looking at a 2007 (newest body style) Reg Cab Black Silverado. I've always liked trucks and have a 2000 Silverado, but it's getting a little high on mileage (175,000+) so I think it's time to let her go and get whatever I can get out of it. So I'm deciding between a fuel-efficient Cobalt or a Silverado. MPG isn't that big of a deal to me, but its more or less an added perk at this point. But I still can't decide between the Cobalt or Silverado... Opinions?!

Cobalt is dead by the end of this year if you can wait for the vastly superior Cruze.

well if you are set on either a cobolt or a 2007 silverado i would go with the cobolt SS bc that 2007 new body style has no power and i had a single cab truck for abt a year and single cab trucks have NO room in them so if i were you i would get a cobolt SS for sure

Yes the Cruze looks like a nice ride.
But since you've liked trucks for so long, You'd probably feel more at home in a Silverado.

I won't be getting an SS Cobalt, but I was thinking about the mid level one. I'm really leaning towards the Silverado, because then I have a good winter vehicle.

Do you regularly haul things? Big things? If not, as much as I love the Silverado, I think you ought to be a future-seeing. Fuel prices will jump in time...

I can stuff about 20 2x4x8s in the Cobalt with room to spare. Large boxed items love the back seat...and passengers do too, all the while, you're wallet will love the gas mileage ~35+ on the highway.

The Cruze will make it all better.

Well I couldn't get the cruze, I need something under $15,000. That's why I'm looking used, and I've found me a VERY nice Black '07 Silverado in mint condition for like $15,000. But not filling up on gas like every week would be nice too...

No I want a Regular Cab preferably. My dad has a Black Extended Cab with the 8.1 in it, then he has a seperate white work truck with the 8.1 (can't remember the MYs), so we got plenty of Extended Cabs if I ever needed one. Passenger space isn't a big issue for me, I usually make the friends drive their own damn vehicles when we go places lol.

Most of the time I do end up driving. I don't trust vance, he's gotten into 3-4 accident in 2 years. Colby driver a V6 Mustang (which by the way has GT emblems on it, which is a poser car ). Stephen and Kincaid have a tC, but stephen always says "i don't have gas money" and Kincaid doesnt let anyone ride in his car. He thinks it's worth a lot of money or something, because he actually drove his MOM's car when he took his GF places lol. Kyle has a silverado like mine, except it's a late 80s to early 90s model. Then so on and so forth... basically i end up driving everywhere.

If you want chicks to think you make $8/hr and live with your parents, then get the Cobalt.

If I buy the Cobalt, it won't be a SS. If I do end up buying a Cobalt, it would be strictly for MPG. But, MPG doesn't really mean much to me right now considering I get ~16 out of the Camaro and the same for my 2000 Silverado.

Basically, save money on gas or have a pickup truck for muddin, hauling stuff, etc. Hard choice for me lol.

The Truck is in my name but the Camaro is in my parents name. The Camaro was a graduation gift, and a late one I might add lol. But I really might just toss a coin because I really can't decide...

If you do go with a silverado, get the new body style. But, really take a look at a denali sierra, first.

Vastly superior? Guess you never owned a Cobalt SS/SC. Speak for yourself, chum, although he did say he wouldn't be getting an SS. If you aren't getting a Cobalt SS, then I'd probably get the Silverado.

Hey, if you wanted a Cobalt for MPG, consider the Supercharger is giving you free power on demand, although only the new Cobalt SS's have a Turbocharger. I love my 2006 SS/SC. Even with the Stage 2 Upgrade to 250HP, I STILL get 33MPG's on the highway, so if you do a Cobalt, you'll get what you want out of an SS. Fastest gas-sipping, front wheel drive car on America. I promise you won't get bored with it.

In terms of quality, design, and fuel economy, the Cruze truly is a vastly superior car than the Cobalt.
