Rattles from heat shields under the car. ANyone have this or has removed these?

My car is very tight and of course roads suck.

I recently got a rattle and buzz sounds like under the middle where the drive shaft is.

Its quite annoying. I cant get over how cheap the shields are. I think I may have ran over a larger twig that may have knocked it out of place.

Has anyone been annoyed with these and decided to just remove them?

This is the cause of the cold start buzzing most guys with exhaust systems hear as well.

I had issues when they installed the JBA Shorty headers. But they adjusted the exhaust and the issues stopped. In the meantime, I went under the car and "adjusted" the shields as best I could. You can either complain to the dealer and let them fix it, or just get under the car and do it yourself.

I also fixed mine myself. Had to tighten a few of the nuts that hold them in place and also bend them up to keep the air from getting between them and the car.

Check and see if your exhaust pipes are rattling on the tunnel brace like mine were when I put on my 3 inch catback. May be that or like you said, the thin heat shield up in the tunnel.

Another thing you can try if nothing else works is to remove the shield and put some Dynamat on the side towards the car.

You sir are correct. I'm a big believer in dynamat.

We tried adjusting them 5 times today, on and off the lift wasted so time and no luck. its the shield dead center above the center resonator.

I decided to just remove it and forget about it because its so flimsy and my car is so stiff it would eventually come back.

I'm having the same problem and am considering removing the heat shield myself. Will this damage anything or raise the cab temprature? Dynomat would be nice.

Remove heat shield and there are several different types of heat tapes you install so you wont notice any change in cabin and get rid of shield.
