I was wonderin' when you were gonna post up on this. Do they have their EO #'s yet?

You gonna get some product to test anytime soon? I like the 12" runner setup, should make for some killer torque. Yeah, like my car needs more torque!

Do they incorporate any external cooling or just the internal? Not clear on their site. Man I wish I could just convince myself that I don't need the warranty on this car....

I think they will be around 495-515whp for the L99 with less boost than the competitors 5.5 I think is the last I read.

We consider 5-8 PSI Low Boost, all superchargers at this boost level will be very close in HP and Torque Production.

Boost Is a product of RESTRICTION, the Restriction is the Engine.

If the engine configuration does not change 10 blowers with the same boost will make the same power.

The differences come in on how much power it takes to turn the blower and produce said boost level, and we are not talking big differences at relatively low boost levels.

A turbo takes the least amount of power to drive it.
Then Centrifugals
Then Roots, Positive displacement style, in this order.

When comparing same style blowers you won't see much difference these days, if advertisements say so you have to be sceptical.

For example, KB vs Whipple vs Maggie vs Harrop, will all be very close at low boost levels.

It is not until you start reaching for much higher boost levels 18-25 psi that you will start to see separation of HP of equal sized superchargers, and it will come down to how much power it takes to turn the blower at said boost level on a given engine combo.

The engine combination can drastically change power production and boost levels at same blower speed.

Using an example, if your PULLIED For 8 psi on a stock engine and you add headers you lose 1 psi boost but gain 10 RWHP, add a Cam and Lose another 1-2 PSI boost but Gain 20 RWHP.

Now To get back to 8 PSI we have to spin the Blower Faster which Takes More HP to Turn it But the Gains FAR Out Weigh the Loss by a long Shot because your still in the sweet spot of the Blower Size if your using a 2300.

If you did the same thing with a 112 blower you would be out of blower and the loss would out weigh the Gains

OK I am getting carried away here but you should get the basic Idea.

To sum Things up, Equal Size/Type, Blowers will Produce Equal Power on Same engine at same boost level.

Ted.

Ted, what about the bottom end torque. Edelbrock is stating due to their 12" runners they produce more bottem end torque than the competition. Can you comment on the difference in low end torque for the Edelbrock long runners vs the open plenum of the Maggie?

thanks
Dean

It is True, Longer Runners make more Torque, but I really Can't Comment Until I see one on my Dyno.
