Couple question on installing Subs/Amp on NON BA

okay everyone should know there is a BA and NON BA system. and well i believe i have everything needed to install it. if its like installing into any other car. but i have a few questions. this is my first time installing a sub system into an american. or better said a new year car.

and well. i am not really familiar with how this car is put together. but here it goes..

okay i have my 12" audiobahn sub ( 1 sub only ) in the box and it all fits in the car and such. but i now need to know..how to wire it all up!!

okay i know where to put the power cable...duh the battery which in the trunk. no problem.

the power cable from the subs to the amp...its common sense...amp to sub

the grounder. i dont know where? where do ya put it....

now we are missing two cables...the cables that connect to the headunit.

only problem. i dont want to remove or mess with the headunit. its tooo nice to mess with it...so yeah..

anyone have any idea? if you get me? im missin the the rca lookin cable and some skinnnny blue one...where did ya put it? just for head reference...i have a 2010 camaro LS....

Remove the trunk floor. Follow the battery negative lead, toward you and to the right slightly. You'll see a bolt going into the trunk metal, thats your ground. You'll need to steal the signal from your 6x9's to provide signal to the amp. I used a PAC SNI-45T for this. Get the red T splice connectors to run wire from your 6X9's to the pac unit. Instructions for wiring are included with the unit. There are two output screws on the pac unit, they are set at 50%, turn them up to 75%. They increase the amount of signal going to the amp. RCA cable connects PAC unit to your amp. Hope this helps.

Here's a picture of what the t splicers look like.

One other note that will save you some time, you have to connect a wire from both the negative and positive of each 6x9 to a wire on the pac unit. Use the red t connectors to tap into each wire on the 6x9. You need to know which wire for the 6x9's is positive and which is negative. Depending on when the car was built- left 6x9 (brown wire +, yellow wire -) or (brown/white +, brown -). Right 6x9 (dark blue +, light blue -) or (dark blue +, tan -).

There is nowhere on the non-BA system. Get a PAC with a switched output or add a switched output device that senses the voltage on the speaker wires.

If you have the Pac kit the blue wire on the Pac kit goes to the amplifiers remote turn-on input.

How are you getting the signal from your 6X9's without a pac kit? No idea how your gonna do it without one.

You can run it all the way to your fuse box and add a terminal off the radio fuse. Run the wire under the trim from the trunk down the drivers side under the door edge, should work fine. Done this for years. Lucky the BA system everything went into the trunk on mine. hope it all works out for you.
