As much as I think they're a good idea, I can't get over how... I can't eve describe how to put it, only that they are not for me. I hate how long my 4th. Gen. doors are, but, IMVHO, I wouldn't put those doors on my car. Good idea, there's just something there that isn't for me.

I don't care how you decide to classify them. Any door that opens with a vertical inclination is just cliche and flashy. I'd rather spend that couple grand elsewhere.

I love the Scissor or "Butterfly" style doors. I said a long time ago the Camaro would look great with them.
I'd consider having it done if it wasn't too much. |

If you're gonna go butterfly doors you might as well go all the way and cover the car in lime green paint, bag it, slam in to the ground on chrome 24s (w/spinners of course), neon inside and out, 20 LCD displays in every possible nook and cranny, a 1.21 gigawatt stereo system, huge tri-level wing and a K&N CAI on an otherwise stock V6. That would be SHWEET!

But police officers can't do anything for owners of vettes like these when they are all parked on PRIVATE PROPERTY. Laws (most laws) don't apply there like they do elsewhere. The people on either side are pricks...period. Guy in the middle is just screwed. I know what I'd like to do to the cars on either side, but I would just never be able to do that.
Speaking of this situation. I actually did have someone call for something like this. It was at a movie theater parking lot and I couldn't believe someone would have been so inconsiderate to have parked so closely on either side like they did. I mean....my God...I'd be afraid someone would key my car...flatten a tire...jack it up somehow. The guy wanted an accident report, but he admitted he never saw any damage since he couldn't see between the cars. Then, he was complaining that he couldn't get in. I told him there was nothing I could do. Actually, there was room for him to get in on the passenger side, but it was a newer Honda w/ no key lock on the passenger side. Finally, I looked at his keys....no key fob to unlock the doors. So, I used his key to pop his trunk and told him to climb on in......into the car and into the drivers seat. Worked like a charm. Next call...back in service. Now why he didn't think of that......

The Price for the Mustang is $1339... So if you wanted them for the Camaro I'm sure it'll be about the same price or around that price range. The charger is like $1446. Also, There are different options the price will probaly go up, ie. remote door opener, different Degree's the door opens, etc. |

They're still in R&D. It would be ridiculously expensive to do in the aftermarket since they had to move the B-pillar in the Lincolns they showed. Additionally, they have to play with the undercarriage of the car a little. It would be a great OEM feature, but the companies haven't jumped on board yet.

I've never been one that felt they had to conform to popular opinion though. So I'm perfectly willing to admit that the scissor (or whichever) style doors and an undercar neon kit are good looking imo. A car coming down the road at night 'floating' on a 'cushion' of light just looks flat out amazing to me. |

I think it would be veryyyyy difficult to put the "dissapearing doors" on the 2010 Camaro considering the Mirrors are attached to the doors not the front pillar. Anyways i think that a Scissor door kit would looks awesome on the new Camaro.. $1500 well spent in my eyes
