I say go order from a good dealer, maybe one like Newman Chevy (camaroscotty)
Get the new ordered car and drive to the price gouging dealer in it to show how they lost a sale to a good dealer because they are dishonest.

I was back in the Birmingham area and saw the same yellow Camaro sitting on the lot with another SS beside it; so, I stopped in to show my son the SS up close. The yellow one that had the rally stripe (vinyl not painted) package priced two weeks ago at $1495 now had the stripes priced at $1995! Again, for the standard vinyl stripes you get for $475 MSRP. I can see them showing the market mark up of $xxxx on the sticker, but mis-pricing a standard option seems illegal...

SS on the way

Went to a car show at a local southern NJ dealer that sells both Fords and Chevys they are a Roush dealer also they had a Roush 427 SC Mustang.
The Ford window sticker showed 35.900 I said not bad at all until I saw the roush sticker on the windshield another 18,000 The engine id sticker said 4.6 CI at 435 HP I'm not a Ford man but I was slightly impressed.
They were showing a Camaro LT well optioned at 28, 995 the salesman said they had a 2SS RS on the way blk, 6 man,and a black wheel option and a 5,000 dealer availability surcharge. He said that if I were really serious they may be able to do something about that.
Any orders wouldn't have that [option] attached
I asked about any problems related to GM's curent situation, he said none,
there is an approximately 8 week wait until delivery.
If a dealer wants to have an additional charge, and someone will pay it more power to him, no body actualy gets ripped off unless they pay it.

Dealer Name: Ourisman Chevrolet
Dealer location: Marlow Heights, Maryland
Dealer phone number: 301-423-4000
Dealer website: www.ourismanchevrolet.com

Dealt with the owner himself as his family is close to mine. Ordered 10/13 for MSRP and not a penny more.

Got the deal of a lifetime day. $1995 dealer markup take it or leave it deal. 0 questions asked.

It seems another camaro5 customer got stuck as well. He caused a storm and they removed it supposedly. I raised hell and they said absolutely 0 chance of taking it off. If the car goes to me, or even an employee its for 1995 more.

Well I took it because I had no choice. But never again will I shop at Ourisman. Just sucks that their dealership is across the street from my business, that and I see about 1000 people a day, 100 of which will ask me about my car, so, hope it was worth it ourisman. I know I will ONLY have good things to say about you guys...only good things.....

I know there's an Ourisman dealership here in Fairfax, VA that's getting shutdown (Chrystler division) - they might be sourpusses.

I don't think I would have taken it - I'm way too stubborn about my principals. If the deal was for MSRP, then that's final.

Well, they won out by you giving in. That $2,000 could have gone to put some nice painted stripes on the car and or other upgrades..Oh well, at least it isn't $5,000 more.. Enjoy your Camaro and congrats on having the last true American muscle car the original General Motors ever conceived and made.

Hang a sign on the car when it is parked across from them saying they screwed you. Get a web address for 12 bucks and advertise it. A buddy of mine did that in 03 when he got screwed on a new Mach 1 and the dealer got so tired of it he refunded the rape charge.

How do you get a web address to do that? I would like to do that for the dealer that screwed me over?

Glad I didn't buy mine here!

Here's another example of a dealer marking up their demo car.
This is why GM should build the R6P loyal customer cars first!!!!!!

Outrageous accessory prices.

P.S. I hope it sits on their lot.
