MPD1 "Z/28 style" ram air hood

Our second hood is well underway and I wanted to share these pics of it in its first coat of primer. We have done a Z/28 style as pictured on the cover of Motor Trend. It will be a true ram air and will have heat extractors in the cowl area. The dedicated air passageways (doesn't just blow air into the whole underside of the hood) route the air over to your aftermarket intake. Naturally it is set up to work best with the CAI inc airbox as do all of our true ram air hoods.

This hood is nearly 1 inch taller than the stock cowl hood at the back. It comes forward with out looking like a "wedge". The back of the hood continues the slope from the hood/fender line up to the cowl area and then tapers into the scoop. The inlet in the front is recessed into the hood from the leading edge to make a nice sized opening that can really grab some air. The blue tape line on the last pic shows where it will be trimmed off.
It will come complete with mesh bonded in the front and rear openings. It has a hood latch, air handling ductwork molded in, washer nozzle hose routed inside the hood and correct body bolts to replace the OEM stud and nut setup for the hinges. All MPD1 hoods are designed to drain off water before it reaches the CAI. We pride ouselves in building the highest quality jig assembled hoods that are bonded throughout with high tech adhesives as well as metal plates in high stress areas.

I will share more development pics as we get closer to our release date in the middle of Feb.

Well man, I was really struggling between your large cowl hood and Revolutions hood, but with all the problems Revolution has been having I was kind of at a stand still. If the pics of this hood on a car look as good as I imagine they will I believe I have found the hood I am going to buy . This thread has been bookmarked, and I don't do that too often .

Here is a pic for you. This is what I was shooting for only better This picture makes the hood look very flat in the middle. I have kept a nice peak down the center of ours.

Around 850.00. We will not be doing any painting. You should always have your hood fitted, color matched and blended by your own bodyshop.

I will post some as soon as I have it done. Here is a link,

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ht=mpd1&page=4

Go to post # 99 so you can see the level of finish and design on the underside of our cowl induction hood. Will be similar to that except with the ductwork routed to the front opening. The mesh in back will function for the heat extracters with some additional holes on the inner structure.

Man I can hardly wait, I really like the looks of this. With the looks of your past products combined with the fact that you are easy to communicate with make this a hard item to pass up .

I tenitively have our first hood lined up to be put on one of Camaro5 members car. If I do not get a firm commitment from this person soon I will be looking for someone in the Indianapolis IN area for hood # 1. Part of that deal will include a MPD1 rear spoiler as the car will be on our website. Blue, red, or yellow preferred.
