Launch Control Issue?

I tried lanch control for the 1st time today, here is what I did.

Was rolling @ about 20mph then quickly came to a complete stop.

Within a sec or two I Pressed TC button twice. The DIC said stabilicontrol off/competition mode or something like that.

My front wheels were facing straight forward. (I think if they are turned LC wont work)

Then I pressed in the clutch and pressed the gas to the floor and my engine revved to like 6k before I let the gas off. I was ready for the rev limiter to kick in at around 3.5k.

So did I do something wrong or do I have an issue with my launch control?

Make sure you push the gas down quickly or it won't work. Happened to me too

I did kind of "slow roll" the gas, mostly becasue I was nervous it wouldnt work.

Did the DIC readout "Competition mode" when you pressed the TC button twice quickly?

Also did you press the Accelerator Quickly to the floor? If you eased it to the floor it would not engage the Launch control.. If you did that and got the Competition mode message in the DIC You did everything else correctly..

complete stop | press buttons | clutch engaged | gas to floor-- it will go to about 6k then immediately drop down to around 4.1-4.3 and hold | dump it and hold on!

Everything you did except the slow roll was correct. come to a complete stop, t/c twice, clutch in, 1st gear, guick stab on the gas and let the clutch out fast.

you must make sure that the display Sport/Competition Mode comes on the screen and goes away before it is actively on. Only takes a few seconds but if you dont wait for the screen to clear it will not activate.

I wouldn't do it, and won't be on my SS.

There are so many variables with traction, it's a good way to tear up something in the drivetrain. I've seen posts about blowing the driveshaft, smoking the clutch, wheel hopping the rear end (also very destructive)...

Ripping the driveshaft out isn't worth it to me to see how some gizmo programming works.

GM warranty includes LC. Not like the junk of the ricer GT-R which voided LC warranty damage.

If it hold ups with 640 HP ZR1 Corvette it surely hold up with Camaro

Here is hard data of me testing the LC on a 2010 LS9 ZR1

http://www.teamzr1.com/ubbthreads/ub...=3197#Post3197

Issues early on with drivetrain had nothing to do with LC but with a bad lot of parts from supplier.
