Radio Question

anyone know how to get at the back of the radio so i can install my subs?...i didnt feel any way to detach the bottom piece to get behind it

i installed my 2 12" kickers myself and the only problem i have is that i need to pull all the panels out and put down some dynamat!

use a signal converter from the rear 6x9s. that way you dont have to mess with takin the radio out!

no, essentially all you are doing is borrowing the signal from the speakers. depending on the amp that you use, you may not need a converter. some amps have built in speaker level inputs that wire directly into the factory speaker wires. if your amp doesnt have this then you will need a converter to wire into the factory speakers that converts the signal power into an rca level input for your amp.

lol, i basically modeled the box after one of the subthump boxes available, but since i wanted it color matched to the body i opted to make my own. i actually made it a little too big for the space its in as it took a fair bit of persuasion to get her in there and turned correctly. im actually gonna be taking it back out and making a new one that fits a little more to my liking! but im probly gonna have to cut the box pretty much in half to get it out!

as far as making it, a table saw and a protractor are your friend!! or atleast a lot of math and some type of saw. a pneumatic staple gun or brad nailer helps out a lot as well.
