Naturally aspirated or forced induction?

Which would you rather see? Big engine with a lot of power (ie LS7) or a supercharged V8 (ie LS9)?

Is this regarding only the Z/28 or just in general?

FI because it's easier to deal with in my case, though either would be awesome!

In regards to just the Z/28, whichever would make the car affordable to its market. So I'll go with the LSA (Supercharged V8). N/A though if it was only up to me.

I agree! And I think the 5.5L DI engine that will be raced in the Vettes this year makes a GenV DI engine look more feasible for a Z/28 when they decide to make the Z/28.

Exactly. By 2012 this will be GM's answer to the Coyote going into the Mustang next year. Only thing is i don't see them dropping the genV into the SS (which I fully expect a year after big brother gets it), then just slapping a super charger on it and calling it a Z/28... but hey, I've been wrong before. With the LSA on its way out and no hope for the LS9 i can't think of any other powerplant they would use though. Not that I'd mind a supercharged DI v8 waking up the neighbors... i just don't see that configuration happening in time for the z/28.

I thought it was the LS7 that was being discontinued? I haven't heard anything about the LSA being thrown out.

like others are mentioning a gen5 DI motor would fit in the z28 backround perectly. if this motor could put out 500hp/500tq it would be bomb with a nice torque curve starting down low.

Thats not enough, A D.I. Gen V v8 should be for the regular SS in response to the 2011 Mustang. I think the Gen V V8 will be to the 5th gen camaro like when the 4th gen went From the LT1 in 1997 to LS1 in 1998. IF the Vette gets it, then the camaro will have it as its Base V8, thats how chevy usually does it. Ultimately a 500hp 3860lb camaro will probaly get smashed on the track by the 2011 GT-500 (540hp+ though most likely more) that gets an alluminum block, thus shaving atleast 100lbs off the nose. A 5th gen camaro with a D.I. N.A. 5.7-6.2V8 would make a great SS to beat the new mustang GT, but would not be able to touch the 2011 GT-500. Rumor is GM is making a D.I. Version of the LS7 THAT WOULD BE THE PERFECT MOTOR FOR A Z/28!!
IMHO.
