Got a facelift

After many many months of saving, waiting, researching, and finally pulling the trigger, I've finally gotten my ZL1 front end. Here's just a few phone shots that I've taken. I'm hoping to take her out and get some actual shots this weekend.

P.S. - now i've got to find matching DLR bulbs to the foglights. The mods never end!

Thanks man! I really appreciate it. Did the mod with just me and a buddy and while definitely not overchallenging, it does require a bit of thinking. At the end however I wouldn't have done it any other way.

If Chevy didn't put that horrible slot on the SS I doubt this would be done much. This is definitely an improvement.

It's all a matter of opinion b/c it's purely a cosmetic change. I loved the SS mailslot, but the ZL1 front end is just soo much better looking in terms of looking aggressive.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Saved up and worked hard to finally get it. I bought mine from Gary's Customs and dude is 5 star quality. If you ever have any questions about installation or anything don't feel afraid to shoot me a PM.

Looks great, I got hit by a deer on hot rod power tour this year, $11k damage, State Farm said I could upgrade to ZL1 front end if I paid the difference. After credits for 1LT parts I ended up paying $10.96. I installed all OEM GM parts except the hood extractor. Paid for that separate from Truecarbon $499. I love the looks of the ZL1. Still trying to figure out how to wire fogs up.

I think it was around the 14-1500 range? I got the kit from Gary's Custom (painted) and then bought the zl1 harness and bulbs from gen5diy. It's a bit pricey but man is it worth it. I just can't help but keep going outside to look at my ride.

Yeah here in Texas the front license plate hasn't been too big of a deal, but they are cracking down. I will be going with the no drill method very soon. I also noticed in a prior post that you weren't sure about the foglight wiring (I'm assuming you meant the actual foglights and not the larger daytime running lights). You'll need to buy the Zl1 foglight harness from gen5diy. I have a buddy who is pretty well set for wiring (just installed an air compressor inside the engine bay of his jeep to fill his own tires for wheeling), and he was very impressed with the harness build quality and attention to detail. The harness takes pretty much ALL the guess work out of everything, and makes it plug and play.

Man that looks good! If there was no IOM I would have gone with SW. I want a ZLI bumper badly!

Looks great!!! I got lucky and bought my car with this mod already done, otherwise I would have saved up to do it. Now I need the harness for the fogs
