Thinking about getting a Camaro

New member here and have been thinking about picking up a Camaro. I found one I like its a 2SS RS with sunroof, polished wheels, manual trans and has the red jewel paint MSRP is $37,465 the dealer is offering it to me for $35205 plus TT&L that includes the supplier pricing and the Pontiac owner discounts . I am considering trading my 2002 WS6 with 85,000 miles and they offered me $11,300 for it. Do you think this a good deal? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

That sounds like a pretty good deal on the Camaro. Some of the dealers here in the forums might be able to do better or advise you . You might PM BeckyD@RogersCheverolet or CamaroScotty to see what they can do for you. They both have great reputations here on the forums and both have been very helpful to me.

As far as your trade in, you might check kbb.com (kelly blue book) to see what your trade is worth. You can almost always do better by selling your old car yourself, but trading it in is more convenient. One thing to remember is that you don't pay sales tax on the value of your trade in (at least that is true in Ohio, I'm not sure about in Texas). For a car that's worth as much as your WS6, that can be several hundred dollars saved too!

You will absolutely love a Camaro. I have had a bunch of different cars and the Camaro is by far the most fun I have ever had driving! Good luck.

I would definitely talk to some onsite dealers, too. You might need to get your car appraised in person at a dealership, so consider that if you're talking to a dealer out of the area.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to by at a local dealer that i had purchased 3 cars from and they offered $8500 for my trade NADA shows average trade value at $10,300. In Texas we only pay tax on the difference so thats saves around $700. I dont want to deal with all the lowballers and tire kickers selling it private party.

The trade in price is pretty good for a WS6 w/85k miles. And the price on the 2010 is decent also.

I could keep it but, I don't want to pay insurance for 5 cars. I think im going to go ahead with the deal, it doesnt seem like many dealers are selling for much under sticker plus the discounts. I should be bringing it home tomorrow if all goes well.

I think they're offering too much for your trade.

Thats about the best price available for the Camaro (supplier + pont. incentive), and $11,300 is for the WS6 is probably better than you'll find anywhere else. Go for it.

Well i picked up the Camaro Saturday. I bought it at James Woods Chevrolet in Decatur Texas. They gave what i believe is a great deal. Karen Pattison was my sales person and she honored all rebates and incentives. The car is a 2SS RS with sunroof, red jewel paint, 6M,
polished wheels and they tinted the windows.

On my trade they used Autotrader trade in marketplace with a guaranteed trade value, all the local dealers were offering me $8000-8500 on my 02 WS6. When i filled out the trade value it came in at $11,134 and they honored that price.

The car stickered for $37,490 minus supplier pricing , minus the Pontiac owners $1000 rebate and my trade with TT&L came to $26,204

I tried to post a pic but was unable to, i'll try and figure it out later and post a few pics up. Thanks for all the help
