I'm not a Man (Airaid CAI Install)

I got my Airaid CAI from JDP Motorsports on Friday. Great service by the way. Jordan is second to none. Last night I began to install my Airaid and got to the part where you have to install the rubber seal around the top of the cold air box. After a half hour I walked away cursing. My Wife came to me five mins later and said: "I got it on for you...ROOKIE".

I went out to the garage and yep, it was on perfect....I'm not a Man!!!

Dude that happens to me all the time. As a guy, I don't have alot of patience. My wife always says let me do it, takes her time and gets it done. But I'm the type of person that would rather be throwing 100 lb dumbells around @ the gym, then putting a jigsaw puzzle together though, lol.

Yeah, I give your wife credit for even going out and taking a look at it, plus bonus points for doing the job.

FYI for anyone installing the Airaid CAI, when you but the top seal on, heat it up with a hairdryer, it was the hardest part of the install.

It was the hardest part of the install for me also. I took a wide blade screwdriver and pryed it apart double the original width and squeezed it back together once I slipped it on.

That's exacly what I did, I think if I would have heated it up first it would help. I have to install one on my Charger this week, we will see.

Sometimes thats just the way installs go. Someone will step in with a fresh view and opinion and help you figure it out. Heat exchanger in my 04 cobra was like that.

You'll never live that down, trust me. You'll have to do something very manly to make up for this like grow a beard, hopefully she cant do that even if she tried. If so your problems are much worse then expected!

I installed the Airaid CAI on my 2009 Charger R/T tonight, and it was easier than the Camaro. The trim piece slid right on, probably because the box is metal, I was ready for a fight. The IAT (Air flow sensor) was a pain, dodge needs to copy Chevy's.

Absolutely the 20 min walkaway saves hours of frustration. My rule is as soon as i wanna throw a tool or stab the fender with a screwdriver I walk away.
