Magnum. The torque on the V8 is what will get you.

http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

This site lists STOCK 2005 Magnum R/T's at 5.8-5.9s for 0-60mph and 14.3-14.5s for the quarter mile. GM advertised stock LT Camaros at 6.0s and 14.2s, I believe. It's a narrow difference, and with mods in the picture I don't think anyone can say conclusively. Best to just take it to the track and tell us how things go. :-)

The Dodge is listed 0-60 as 6.3 seconds. The Camaro 5.8, but yea those V-8's do have alot of torque

Should have posted in the .vs section, so we could all enjoy the entertainment.

Here, the Dodge fans won't find the post and start chimp-screaming about how "the Magnum will kick the isht out of a v6 Camaro!!!!"

HA! I didn't know about this thread until sour deez pm'd me

I've mentioned it before, had long tube headers back exaust, cai and a jetchip (worthless mod, don't even buy that crap) but with heavy as hell aftermarket 20" rims, I could do a 14 flat in the 1/4. So stock, on 18" rims, I think I would have been a 14.1-2 like stated...heavy rims killed what I gained in performance parts. That was the white 05 RT....black srt8 a different story.

It would be close, and funny as hell watching the r/t guys face as a v6 'maro stays close!

Like bmwdon said above though, the SRT8 would be a whole other ball game, lol. Best to leave that one to the SS fellas/females.

Any car can beat any other car on any given day.... other drivers blows his launch, spins off the line, bogs or worse stalls... stuff happens.. just line them up and run them! If you lose... oh, well... you lost to a V8... but beat him and you took down a V8! and make sure you have your camcorder!!!

Well the cars I have are as follows:

1. 1987 Camaro RS California Special) with the 2.8 V-6 that has 135HP
2. 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T with the 5.7 Hemi, I believe the HP is about 350 or close.
3. 2010 Camaro 2LT/RS, you guys know the info on this.

The car that is the most enjoyable to drive is the 2010 Camaro, and it wins out in all areas. The Magnum feels too large when compared to the Camaro and the Camaro is lighter.

only 2....

although I almost beat a modded V8 3rd or 4thGen Camaro last fall... I beat the guy off the line with a my good reaction time and crossed the finish line first... The guys buddies told him he just lost to a V6... so he comes stomping over and says something like "Tell me that's not a V6!" I was was like yep, it's a V6... so now he's steaming... and starts rattling off his mods... I let him rant a bit... Then I stopped him and pointed out that even though I crossed the finish line first he still beat me... that his ET was a few tenths better than mine but that he need to work on his reaction time... he went away happy! LOL!

A regular R/T Mag is gonna be driver Vs driver. So far, at the track, I've out run a Genesis coupe, 454SS pickup (by .8 ), an 09 GT with a 18 YO driving, and just lost to a 5.0 Mustang with mods last nite by .006 ( times were 14.31 to his 14.28). I had him till 3rd gear and he passed me at the line. He left the track after that.... :-) I had a 14.15 the next pass... that would have really torgued him! hehe!

I've used that feature a couple of times. From what I've gathered, it's fairly accurate if you can prevent wheelspin. That's not saying it's dragstrip accurate, but I've seen reviews where it is very close.

No... i only use it for 0-60 runs... save the 1/4 runs for the track... and i think the dashhawk at the track could be a bit of a pain... LOL

Right off the line you wont have an edge, the torque that the Hemi will pump out simply will get the Magnum to speed faster.

Up top in some of the higher gears you may be able to run the Magnum down if its stock and you're stock.

The 05's were the pre-Eagle Hemi 3rd generations. That being said, its at 340 HP at the crank, so figure that it'll be between 290-298 HP at the wheels and around 4400 lbs.

It'll be close, for sure..and one drivers mix-up will most surely decide the race. If that Magnum has ANY extra weight in it that pushes it over 4500 lbs..then the Camaro may indeed pull off a close win.

The 05-08 Hemi's were a bit low for the weight of the Magnum's and Chargers, once the 09's got the 368 HP version of the 5.7 it was a bit better.
