GM Parts Direct. Com

Has anyone purchased parts from this company and what is your experience?

Are they part of GM?

Based on my research they offer a savings on the 2010 Splash Guards and other GM parts.

Lots of information about them, just need to search around. You will find mixed reviews of the site. According to one of the threads, the site is coming from a specific dealership.

Just got the trunk mat from them, great service, great delivery. Shipping wasn't bad - 15.00 - the mat weighs about 15 lbs, so I understand why it was that much. No Tax.

And Yes, it is a Dealership, NOT direct to GM. I did some searches, and the price for the item I got was cheaper (with tax/delivery) than any others I found.

I've found prices for items vary a bunch from place to place - meaning they may be cheap on one thing, and rip your head off on another. Use google, it's your friend.

Just make sure you compare TOTAL price - because that's how most places try to screw you, show you a cheap price, and jack the shipping up.
Good luck.

Ordered the splash guards from them. Since they are plastic, shipping was wasn't too bad. Total cost was way less than the dealers price. 120 something IIRC.

Edit: Found the receipt. 135.20 + 16 for shipping. Dealers wanted between 175 and 2 bills.

I've ordered many times from them. No problems. $15 is not the shipping fee, it is a fee they charge with each order for processing I believe. Shipping is free right now from them.

Just got a Heritage grille from them for $222.00. I also picked up a bow-tie and SS emblem and the stock mounting hardware (I'm planning to fabricate a way to mount them). Initially, they were charging $15.00 handling on the grille, but when I added the other parts, that went to zero and the handling all went to the other parts. I don't think you'll beat $222.00 for a Heritage grille. Turnaround was about a week from order to delivery. And a bonus... no tax!

My experience with them has been good. Even with a high shipping/handling charge, you will usually end up with a better price than a local dealer. Just be sure that you're getting exactly what you want/need because if you have to return anything, you won't get the shipping/handling back and the things on my order were considered "special order" anyway.

Good prices but high S&H and slow (sometimes very slow) shipping. But I've ordered from them 4-5 times and always gotten what I needed.

I like RockAuto.com better, but they don't always have parts I'm looking for. They ship very quickly.

I have had good service from www.gmpartsadirect.com, Rockauto.com and partsladi at ebaymotors.com. Give them a parts number, or even just a call to tell them what you need and soon it is at your doorstep.

Great communication, great support but poor shipping.

I ordered some parts to upgrade my stock V6 brakes to the V8 brembos. Well one of the items was on back order. No problem I didn't mind waiting however I recieved the back order item already but waiting on the rest of the order. The thing that annoys me the most I talked with someone two weeks ago and they said they just recieved all the items and is headed back to the shipping department today. Well they shipped two of the items that day but didn't ship the other items until 6 days later. A total of five weeks to recieve all my parts.

Yeah, if you order something large, I think their prices are good. However, I wanted to order an SS badge for $12 and they wanted to add $15 shipping. I didn't order for that reason. No matter what you buy, they seem to charge $15 shipping. So, if you just want something small, it's not a good deal.

Not necessarily, I bought some of the push in retainers and they only charged me 97 cents shipping and handling...
but they did charge me $15 for the Bow tie.. go figure...

Best thing to do is wait till you need to order several things at once, I don;t think they charge $15 for each item. I think it is more of a order processing fee than shipping.

They are a local chevy dealer here in North Carolina {Winston- Salem} and they are a fairly large dealer with multiple brands , I had actually ordered my car there originally in may,2009 but could never get an allocation and switched dealers and they were very cool about it and refunded my deposit no questions ask and even wished me luck on my order from another dealer and spoke highly of the dealer I ordered from , I wouldnt hesitate one second in buying from them

Wow. Sounds like I am the only one to have problems with them. I live only about 1 hour away from them in NC and have been waiting 1 month for a trunk mat and Transformer wheel centers, neither of which are on back order. The only communication I have received from them is that they are too busy to respond to my emails. I wish I would have read other Corvette forum posts prior to ordering any merchandise from them because others encountered the same problem. I glad to hear that other people on this site have had a much more positive experience than myself but I will never order another thing from them.

I ordered the 4 pack guages part 92247188, 8 weeks ago and haven't got them yet because they are on backorder which I don't blame gmpartsdirect for but it's getting old waiting for the part. They have communicated well they even said I could cancel because of the backorder but I'll just continue to wait. It's only guages not something I have to get right away.
