CGM w/ LS7 Front/Rear Blackout and Splash Guards

I recently added the GM splash guards to my CGM and I love the look of the LS7 blackouts - RiderGraphix recently completed the rear so there are 4 pieces added to complete the whole blackout. It is a very subtle look on CGM but I like it. I also added the "mailslot" blackout.

Front Blackout and Mailslot Blackout:

Multiple views of the Splash Guards (it is so nice not to hear the side of the car being showered w/ stones/pebbles while driving!)

Rear view of splash guards and the LS7 Rear Blackout:

Love it! Would you say the red SS emblems blend well with the iom stripes or do they clash a little?

Awesome, so how did the rear LS7 blackout turnout? It's hard to tell in the pics, did the extra pieces for the flat areas at the tail light wells go on smoothly? can you take a close up of where the big piece and the small piece line up? Thanks.

Actually they match pretty good - they are far enough away that they look pretty close to the same color.

It is a nice kit and covers pretty well. I have done a fair amount of vinyl work and I would say that this might not be a project I would recommend for your first effort. The front and mailslot are good first time projects. I will post some pictures later today. I am pleased with how it turned out.

Ok - here are the close-ups of the fit of the pieces. Understand that depending on what color you choose will make a difference. These are flat black and are very forgiving of any gaps/mistakes on the cyber gray metallic. This comes as a taped stripe so there is a piece of tape on the back (adhesive side) and one on the front (on top) of the stripe. I removed to top layer and just handled the stripe itself. It made it easier to see how the fit was. I put the large piece on first and then the 4 small pieces which worked fine. I thought it would easier to make the small stripes fit the big ones than vice versa.

In this picture it looks like there is a gap where they meet but it is actually just reflection.

Hahah! Well the Sonata isn't much to look at. But that explains it, I spend 90% of my time at UAMS with the occasional trip to Best Buy off Bowman. Have you ever been to the autocross meets at War Memorial?

That explains alot! You have to have surgeon's hands to put those on so perfect!

I started to put gills on myself, but then realized I will never be able to get them the way I want them. You my friend have skill!

Thanks for the close ups. Looks good, my car is ABM I think it might be better at hiding the cracks than say yellow silver or white. not as well as CGM though. THanks again for the pictures.

I have done gills, hood spears and mail slot in vinyl, but I may have my buddy help with this he has done tons of vinyl.

Thanks again.

That kit looks perfectly installed on your ride! If you ask me, that looks better than some paint jobs that I've seen trying to pull off that look.

Absolutely perfect!... And I ordered that front fascia piece like you did too. Big question is, how will this look on the IOM as this is probally one of the worst for not being forgiving.

I want the same thing for the front and back, and I ordered an IOM too. I only want to get it if it lines up perfectly so you cannot see the orange at all.

To the OP: Are there any gaps at all?

No Gaps at all and it is really hard to see the seams. To get that you have to shift the 4 pieces just slightly which makes the very thin portion of those pieces not want to line up perfectly - I ended up trimming those just slightly and using a blow drying to work with the vinyl letting it stretch just slightly.

I have to say that I really was impressed with how well the kit worked. I took my time and got the large piece exactly where I wanted it and then fit in the smaller ones.

I understand not wanting a gap - I'm a perfectionist and I would have torn it off if it didn't look right.

IOM will be less forgiving but I think you can get it in place. I think it will look incredible on the IOM. Just gorgeous - the contrast will be striking!
