CD player

The CD player looks like it can only hold one cd at a time. Is this true??Is it a six cd player or does it have the ability to download more than one cd??

I don't ever remember seeing an option for a disc changer. I do remember someone saying that it will play MP3's, so you can have a CD with however many of them and be good for days.

You can always use the AUX jack or USB (should the car be equipped with it) to play music from a portable device.

One CD only. I never use it anyway, since my Zune is hooked up to the USB port.

It's 2010 not 1990! A 2GB USB flash drive is $10, or you can grab a 2GB ipod nano for $55 and even without the USB you can use a stand alone mp3 player with a power adapter for less than $100. Any of those options will put a couple dozen albums worth of your favorite music at your finger tips for less than a cd-changer upgrade would've cost you.

Me and my fiance were talking about this the other day...I've never put a single cd in the cd player (and probably never will)

She was looking at a Jeep Wrangler and on the features it had a 6 disk listed on the features and she said she could care less about the changer...she just wanted the mp3 hookup that came with it standard lol

I really gotta get with the times... I don't have a mp3, but all I listen to is either on the radio or pandora, I buy maybe two cd's a year if that.

Yeah, I doubt you will see many cars in the future have the option for 6 disc cd changer and what-not. Technology has kinda left those in the past with cd players playing mp3 cds. 1 mp3 cd can hold hundreds of songs while 6 cds @ 20 songs per cd gets you around 120. I've been using the 80 gb Ipod.....love it! But that is with the C&C package. If you don't have that I'd definitely rip your favorite cds to your hard drive and burn them all to 1 mp3 disc....windows media player can do all of that.

have not used the CD player yet either. 1 or 6 disk would not make a difference.
really enjoying XM radio or listening to music from the zune/aux port.

CDs will go the way of the Dodo bird soon enough.

Or they will stay single cd's and play dvds etc. The radio in my 09 ram was a cd/dvd player. It was kinda nice. (Only thing about that truck that was nice)

does the MP3 player interface still have that weird software issue where it re-indexes the entire contents of the zip drive every time you start the car, or has that been fixed with a software update?

The US model is 1 disc. The model that gets exported has a 6 disc radio since it does not have XM.

See video of it here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51094

As of software version CE, it still re-indexes each time.
