Texas Motor Speedway Laps for Charity May 8th, 2010

i am new to the this whole camaro forum but i would definately like to give this charity laps a try.. the only problem is that i do not know if i would make the food with all of you guys before the laps.. would i still be able to participate?

yes if you would be able to find us and group up at the track, but as Number_9 said earlier it may be hard to find us since we will be bumper to bumper, but it doesnt hurt to try

I'm pretty excited!! My parents are bringing the vette and will be doing their laps earlier, but they will be eating (overlooking the track) while we run, so hopefully they will get some good pics

just talked with a lady at TMS , she will be emailing me a map to where we will all need to go to sign the waivers and pay for the laps/pictures

As of now, one intersection and police department remains, with the other departments having agreed to assist. The outstanding PD is Keller, which controls the first intersection we pass through on our way to TMS from the meet.

Been trying to reach the right people in Keller all week, but they don't return calls or answer phones I guess..... that said, I plan to take it to the next level tomorrow, so we'll see how it goes (I'll also be confirming the other PD's assistance.)

More to come, and hopefully good, as things develop.

Were all set at resturant for 50 cars and they will block off parking for all of us to be side by side and we have the patio room from 3- when ever we leave lol, we just have to be out by 6 cause they have another party coming in at that time

Awesome! That said, we actually need to be heading down 114 and pass through the 114/377 intersection at ~5pm, in order to meet the timelines the police have given us to pass through the intersections... the caveat for their was it had to be before evening shift change.

UPDATE: Just got off the phone with the Keller PD. They are going to work with us, to pass through the intersection of 114/Trophy Lake Drive. I'll be confirming the Roanoke PD's and Northlake PD's today but they had already said they'd assist so it's confirmation more than anything.

These cops work hard and when shift change comes, they're gone.... So, as a group, we need to be on time and leave Cristina's right at 5:00pm, as in pulling out as a nice long line of cars at the stroke of 5pm. We will end up getting to TMS early, but that'll give us time to get grouped, situated and clean up the cars for the track/photo in victory lane.

More to come as things develop, but the end is very near!

UPDATE: Okay, a dozen phone calls and five departments of authority later, iooks like we are golden for the group drive to TMS from Cristina's... hooray!!

Here's a breakdown of the intersections and departments that are working with us, to pull off the 2010 Camaro convoy to TMS.

• Hwy 114 & Trophy Lake Drive - Keller PD
• Hwy 114 & Hwy 377 - Roanoke PD
• Hwy 114 & Litzey - Roanoke PD
• Hwy 114 & Cleveland Gibbs - Northlake PD
• Hwy 114 & 35W - Denton County Precinct 4 Constables Office

A big thanks to the various departments that are helping us out!

NOTE: Be on time to Cristina's everyone, so we can all be on time for the convoy. The train has to leave the station at 5pm sharp to pull this off!
