LS3 motor parts

As some of you may know, I've already managed to drop a valve through a piston in my new Camaro. I decided to to go with a Texas-Speed motor, so I'm not using any stock short block parts. If anyone wants them, let me know. Best piddly offer takes them. 1 cylinder needs re-sleeved and 1 piston/rod are wrecked. Everything else is there.

Further investigation of the block shows that it's no good :( I had it cammed but am still unsure why the valve dropped. All parts other than clutch , cam, and 7 pistons have been snapped up.

so there is no idea why it dropped a valve? where you running it hard when it happened? Who did the install? What size cam, what valves, springs, retainers where you running?

I was running about 2 grand in 6th on the highway. No load at all. It's a self install so there's probably noone to blame but me...but after taking the motor apart nothing seems obviously wrong. (degreed properly, chain didn't slip, rockers torqued with correct length pushrods...)

The cam was a biggie. 227/235 .614/.621 112+2. I'm gonna throw it on a cam Dr. and make sure it's ground right just to cover my bases. Stock valves with Comp 26926 springs/retainers.

Now if these guys would just ship my darn motor I could get off the internet and do some burnouts!

A retainer could have come loose. They were just the basic ones that came with the Comp set. The car had 3,xxx on it and the cam around 100.
