Service Parking Assist

Started up car this morning and got the message "Service Parking Assist" on the DIC. I shutdown and restarted a couple of times but still had the error.

I turned if off and did a few detailing choires. Now the Error is gone and seems to be working normally.

just thought I'd check and see if anyone had any ideas.

thanks!

Since you have to do the parking yourself does that mean the car thinks YOU need service?

ok,i found it in the manuel, page 4-34.it reads,THIS MESSAGE IS DISPLAYED IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE PARK ASSIST.TAKE THE VEHICLE TOYOUR DEALER/RETAILER FOR SERVICE.the park assist is sensors in your rear bumper, which you must have.i don't have them.i would say to put your car in reverse, get close to something and see if they work.hope this helps.

Yep, I saw that too.

I backed into the driveway and tried to bounce the beam off the garage door. it never beeped when the error displayed, but it worked again after the car sat for 20mins or so while I wipped off the road grime.

anyway, I'll take it in if it continues to happen.
