Final head count for 3-19 Fresno Rooftop shoot

I am working on sketching out the placement of Camaros on the roof of the parking structure. Please use this link to give a definite yes you will attend. Please do not turn this into a discussion. I would like to see just the entries stating yes I will be there. If you have questions or want to say something else, PM me. The only responses on this link should be a yes. Thank you.

Additional information: When you arrive on the top level of the parking garage, there will be someone there directing you to park at the opposite end of the lot. We are going to park all the cars out of the shot until everyone shows up. Then we will move each car into the shot, one at a time. If I get a pretty accurate number from this link, I will be able to park each car and not have to move any cars once parked in the shot. Drivers will be standing off in the area where you first parked, out of the shot, until we complete the shot. Drivers will then be asked to stand with their cars and we will get that shot as well. These shots will be taken from the roof and/or the 8th floor of the hotel that the cars will be facing.

After the drivers are photo'd with their cars, we are going to move all the cars back to where you originally parked when you arrived on the roof. Then once again we will place the cars into the second shot. If you are not interested in the second shot, feel free to leave at that point. The second shot will be taken on the parking lot level, looking off into the background, the city skyline. As I have consistently stated this is going to take some time to do right. So please plan on being up there for 3 hours. I am doing everything to cooridinate this properly, but no matter how well it's planned, it takes time to move cars, and place them exactly where you want them . Thanks ahead of time, and I look forward to seeing many Gen 5's there Friday night. If you post on this link as a YES I will be there, and have any kind of problem getting there call me at 559-349-9876. I think, knowing the many Camaro5 people I have met over the past months, that the atmosphere on the roof is going to be a fun. See you all....up on the roof

Thinking of changing start time to 6pm.

There is a chance we may be forced to move the start time to 6pm. I will know for sure before Wednesday. After several trips up to the roof, and unto the hotel roof and 8th floor point of view(hotel) it is apparent that the parking lot lights will be working against us. I don't want to risk losing the night shot down from the hotel unto the parking lot. If we assembled an hour eralier, we would be assured of having a daylight shot of the entire group from above (the hotel). We then have the option of leaving the cars in place and attempting the night shot (same shot). I've been up there a number of times, and everytime I go, I see nothing but trouble with strong side lighting from the Baseballstadium flood lights, and the parking lot lights on only one side of the cars. That tells me that those cars parked furthest away from the light posts will not have the same light on them. I have a second photographer friend who will assist me in the shoot, and we are evaluating the lighting situation. It is, at this point, my better judgement that we get the sure shot, and still try to pull off the night shot.

I am including a photo I took yesterday from the 8th floor window looking down onto the parking lot. The area between two light poles that you see (yellow bases) and the left side of the lot, is where the group shot from above will take place. There are no lights on the left side. So it limits our options on lighting the group evenly. I will have numerous strobes available, but again, I have no idea how many cars will show. The more cars, the larger an area they fill.

The second photo shows The entire roof. Yes, maybe we can move between the four lamp posts, but then it is not squared to the roof nor the window, so I'm not ruling that out at this point, but with so many unknown factors to consider I think the safest thing we can do is get the sure shot of the group in formation while we have daylight. It will then be up to the group as to whether or not we wait a short while for the night shot.

The second shot originally planned to shoot from the surface of the parking lot outward against the skyline is still a go. Yeah, this has been driving me crazy ever since I did the test shots 2 weeks ago. I'd rather get a sure shot then have everyone disappointed on possibly not getting a properly lit night shot. People will be driving in from other cities, so I feel it is my responsibility to guarantee a sure thing. Thanks for understing the situation. Plan on being up on the roof at 6PM now.
