where to purchase replacement dashboard for 2010 camaro???

Make a long story short, as there is another post on a different topic related to this one, but I am looking for where they sell replacement dashboards for 2010 camaro. I don't know how it is assembled, if it is one big piece or there are multiple pieces. The stupid dealer drilled a hole for a LED valet switch near the steering column and I want to remove the led valet switch and either fix the hoel to make it look and feel like the dashboard before it was violated, or consider replacing the dashboard. The problem is I don't know where to look, how much it costs, and what to look for. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Jeff

P.S. I called up two restoration places in my area. One said they could fix it for 75 and the other said I'd need a whole new dash or just the piece, because it is plastic and you'll never get it back to looking and feeling stock. Both indicated they'd have to see the car to get a better understanding. I don't trust the guy that says replace the whole dash, but maybe he is right. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much. I just looked. Does anyone know if you can replace part of the dash or is it all one piece?

Does this help?

There are 4 different parts. W premium audio, and W/O premium audio

1st design, and 2nd design

Run about $600 or so from GM parts direct

92240644 = Without premium first design
92240645 = With Premium Audio second design.

Yes, it does help. Thank you. Does not appear the piece next to the steering column is replaceable. It appears it is one big piece. I'll probably leave the stupid led switch in there and certainly not going to the dealer again. Thanks again.

Hell with that, make the dealer replace it.

Do you have any pics, maybe you can use it for another switch or a name plate or something.

I could probably put on a dash plaque, as you suggested. It's to the left of the steering column, right of the driver-side air vent, and a few inches north and east of the headlight dial switch. I wanted to leave it stock, so I may have to find a way to cover it. Or, I'm hoping a restoration place can plug the hole and smooth it out so it blends in with the rest of the plastic, if something like that exists.

It feels like someone scratched my car but on the inside, not the outside, and it was the dealer and I haven't had the car for even a week now. I'm sure other Camaro/Corvette owners can understand...heck, even mustang and challenger owners, why not.

Yea, I'm gonna call the dealer and raise hell, let them know I am unsatisfied with this job and what will they do about this.

I talked to the sales person who sold me the vehicle and he's gonna call me back tomorrow to see what to do about it. I already spoke to a automotive restoration place in happague, ny that has 2010 camaros in he gave me a list of options that they could do, if the dealer doesn't do anything. I made the mistake of getting an alarm and from the dealer, but he agreed it was beyond stupid to drill it into the dash.

Oh, I intend to. The reason the installer prolly did that is the lightwitch dial pops off, making it real simple to put the stuipd LED switch there. The idiot just wanted to do a fast job.

Well, they are being very difficult about the whole thing and won't do anything for me. Yes, I wanted the alarm installed. His [the person who engineered the appointment for the alarm] point was no one forced it on you. He also stated that the valet switch, which also functioned here as an LED light to, in his words, "let ppl know you have an alarm", has to be installed like that, unless you specifically ask something else. But they won't do anything at all. They don't want to stomach the cost of taking the alarm out and repairing the hole. They simply don't want to do anything about this. I didn't want anything drilled into the dash and they refuse to do anything. I made it clear that I should've been given the option but nobody did. I made a point that the installer did a fast job, not necessarily the best job. Very disappointing. He shunned me off by saying he's got a customer he has to get to and passed me on to a sales manager. And they can do that because they already got their money. Once the car goes out the dealership, they move onto the next person. If they were still trying to sell me the car or something, they probably would've done something. I paid quite a bit for this car and I would expect a little bit more from the dealership but they don't want to do anything for me, nothing at all.

You can buy a dash from any Chevrolet dealer parts department or ebay if your lucky.

Thank you very much for the tip.

I will prolly leave the stupid thing in there, after I take out the dreadful alarm. In time, I'll either see if it can repaired as close as possible to original or get the dash replaced. Until then, I'm done with dealers. I've learned my lesson.

Your in NY, what dealership???

I never trust the dealer for aftermarket. It doesn't look too bad, I would leave it at this point.

A dealer ship on long island in Babylon, NY called Atlantic Chevrolet and Cadillac. Atlantic is huge. I believe they also have franchises for Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Hyundai, and probably a few others, perhaps more than half of all mass populace nameplates.

The sales person was more than pleasurable. Was very reassuring, didn't pressure me or anything. The financial guy, the one who engineered the alarm deal, was definitely crafty. Trying to offer me full vehicle coverage to bring the monthly payment higher. I thought what good is it if I already have full coverage on my insurance with a 7 year bumper to bumper warranty. If I miss an appt with the dealer, then they can and probably will default me on the dealer warranty. Just what I need, more insurance for nothing. If they would've offered lifetime oil change, discount on tires and brakes, something like that, then it would've been worth it. At least, that's my opinion and understanding.

I learned a valuable lesson. Don't rush into things, have to be more aggressive, and don't get things done at the dealer. I presumed the service dept was in intimate contact with the finance guy who orchestrated the alarm install but they weren't. He got mad that I was talking to a guy in the service dept about an issue, not him. They're the service dept, for crying out loud. You're right, gonna have to leave it. Thank you.

Isn't the alarm led supposed to be very visual like up where the windshield and dash meet? I've always seen em there and the reason is because you want a thief to look at the car and so oh s**t this guy has an alarm, not wait till he gets in the car ready to drive off in it and just before he hot wires it he sees the led and goes, "ahh f**k it im already this far i'll just drive off."

Personally I would never see it there
