The tips are 4 inch OD. I'm not sure how big the opening is for the GM GFX. Nick or Anthony from ARH might be able to answer your question.

Ask for the tips to be separate so that they can be welded as part of the install. There are clearance problems caused by the large round tips inside the GFX exhaust outlet. Yes this is a PIA but the GFX option is not seen as mainstream market and as a result takes a back seat and sometimes forgotten or b/c one was not available to fit for production design modeling.

I am not sure what the current status is on tips for the GFX.

400 plus miles and still no codes...

Oh, and it was warm enough yesterday to turn the TC off............ Note to self, I'm going to need wider tires!

Yeah me too.

Oh and I am a huge fan of ARH. I couldn't be happier with my exhaust.

LT's, CATs and X pipe FTW!

There is a small amount of drone around 1300 RPM's in 6th gear but it only occurs when you put a load on the engine. As soon as the drone starts if you back off the throttle a little bit the drone goes away. Dynamat is now making Superlite Dynamat (see here Dynamat). I'm going to try this in the trunk to see if helps out with both the small amount of drone and wheel/road noise. The trunk has basically no insulation at all other than the trunk mat so I'm thinking the Dynamat will quiet all nose down better than stock.

The ARH is by far the best sounding exhaust I have ever heard on an LS engine and I drink Flowmaster Kool Aid. I'm never taking mine off.

IMVHO the drone is very minor and I can live with it...

Same here, I can not believe how much performance a full exhaust system gives my Camaro... Hell, even the TC is having a hard time keeping up!

Oh, and for those keeping track, My check engine light finally came on... Looks like I got the codes for the cats not heating up fast enough. No biggie, If I was worried about it I would have never put the full system on.

what does the inside of the mufflers look like?

is it perforated pipe wrapped in filling like steel wool, is it straight through like corsa's RST technology, or does it have baffles and such like flowmaster?

Perforated pipe and is a straight through design.

The problem with the GFX is not so much the diameter of the opening, but the placement of the tips front-to-rear. A 4" tip should fit within the dished portion of the GFX fitting, but the tip has to be placed more forward (more inset in the housing) to match with the dished portion. You may need to cut some length from the exhaust pipe as well as from the tip's pipe to get it to fit within the GFX housing.

I tried to install the GMPP axle back with 4" tips (they're bigger than 4" BTW) and they wouldn't fit without major mods. I ended up getting the quieter version without tips, and had custom tips added later. They had to cut the pipe almost all the way back to the hanger rods. Cutting off the tips from the original GMPP setup was too much work for my dealer so I went the other route.

Hey guys I just installed 1 7/8 headers and a three inch all the way back to the stock mufflers. Is it normal for me to have a lot of drone with stock mufflers. Its almost unbearable. I'm not going to lie I love the sound of the exhaust from the outside but not from the inside. It hits a tiny bit at idles I did use the washers on the cross bar.
Any ideas?

Hmmm... Everyone else I know has an aftermarket axle back...

I could shoot a vid of the exaust sound from the inside of my car.... but it will be hard to tell...

If you'd like I will take a quick vid and post it tomorrow...

My ARH setup does drone a bit but mostly when cruising ant real low RPM... say around 1500... it actually gets a little quieter with more rpms...

Angry Check Engine Light

Did your Check Engine Light come on after installing the ARH exhaust system. I purchased the entire system also, had a local shop install for me and now the Check Engine Light has came on. Suggestions?
