Probably not the best intake available. Look at C.A.I. or New Era. If you go with the K & N, look on E-bay. Summit is pretty high on this item.

I would choose the CAI, inc. or the ADM Street Intake.. A little more expensive but worth it..

I wonder if these brand delivers what it promises. I bought a K&N for way less than $340, but wondered if it will give me more HP than the rest of the line. For those who installed one - what is your HP input?

I as well purchased the CAI inc. intake. Check out the testing numbers which are in a spreadsheet format. Great results, fit and ease of installation.

Not to mention, looks great

Maybe its just my old fashioned jitters, but a metal-tubed intake seems like it would be prone to a lot of heatsoak. This is why I went with the Aircharger version (plastic tubing) Got it for $260 shipped. I have no complaints with it thusfar.

Check in with AJ @ ECS motorsports. He can do a WAY better deal than Summit. Tell him R1ecko referred you and maybe I can get a deal on the intake I want too : )

if you are referring to the CAI intake, the metal is ceramic coated inside and out, and the box is insulated. i think IIRC the test showed them to have one of the lowest temps of the intakes.

So you opted out of the metal version for one with a GAPING HOLE where the MAF goes.

They don't. I think someone posted around 5-7whp difference.

Halltech is the one I went with and haven't regreted it one bit.

K&N makes great air filters but ok CAI's. Buy a Roto-FAB CAI bro. The best dyno gains and no BS from the company.

Get what you want.. its going to be marginal difference overall... honestly i got my KN typhoon for 250-260 something like that from a vendor on this site.. check your vendor section before making a $ummit Racing purcha$e.. they are higher than bob marley.

I wont buy local because my retarded shops price match summit racing.. HA.. losers.

I was the one that discovered the "GAPING HOLE"

For half the price of the CAI inc one, I'm not to upset about it.

Has anyone seen any vendors selling the CAI on here for less than $399.99? I have the cash to get one, but was looking for any better deals. I really just want to get the best one available.

For $350 you can get a Halltech to your door. You won't be disappointed with this one.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...light=halltech

If you like the enclosed type CAI go with CAI brand or ADM. If you like the open top box type then I would suggest Halltech with Roto-Fab as a second choice.

I installed a CAI, Inc. along with Borla axlebacks and my newly painted engine cover over the weekend. The exhaust is definitely deeper and louder and the throttle response seems a little quicker, but I didn't get a chance to drive it that much.
