Three up-coming meetings:

Sun, Oct 7. 1:00PM - Chuy's near Opry Mills Mall - club meeting to discuss and plan upcoming fall and winter events as well as socialize. If weather is bad, feel free to drive whatever. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group....cussionid=5942

Sat, Oct 13 (time TBD) - possible cruise if interest is there - likely destination will be Dale Hollow Lake for picnic and photoshoot. May meet up with Knoxville group at Crossville for joint club cruise (though notice on this is short). Non-Camaro cruisers are welcome to join us and enjoy the fall colors. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group....cussionid=6070

Sat, Oct 20 (time: when gates open - noon?) - Music City Fall Brawl II - our third drag race and car show event at Music City Raceway at Ridgetop TN. Friendly competition with time trials open for all generations of Camaro and a 5th Gen only class competition through the evening. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group....cussionid=6022

If you are only able to make it to one of these events, try for the Oct 20 club event... turnout was good for the first event last fall, better for the event this past spring, and we are hoping to further grow the event this time!

Questions? shoot me a pm!

Saturday cruise info

Date: Saturday, Oct. 13
Time (all on Central): meet up in Mt Juliet 8:00-8:15 AM, depart 8:30 AM ... plan is to meet up with Knoxville group in Cookeville ... depart from Cookeville at 10:00 AM (ish).
Mt Juliet meeting point: Parking lot behind Chick-Fil-A at Providence Mall.

Open to any Camaro, Firebird, Mustang, Vette, Challenger, Charger, Chevelle, PT Cruiser, convertible, cool car, or skateboard (as long as they can keep up). Bring a friend ... bring a neighbor ... bring some food! (though we should have time at Cookeville to snag subs and munchies, so if you don't have anything at hand ... don't worry about it!

Last fall we cruised down the Natchez Trace, and this year it was suggested that we try to meet up with the Knoxville gang in Cookeville and then turn north and head up to Dale Hollow Lake for a picnic. The leaves should be starting to change (ideal weekend for cruise would really be on the 20th, but that date is out of the question lol) and I think that the 27th will be too late for fall colors.

If you are interested in cruising, please reply here as soon as possible ... if we have some interest, we will coordinate with the Tennessee Valley C5 group and possible Muscle Car Ministries to possibly expand this further (and beyond Camaros! - have a neighbor that is possibly interested in taking his Mustang vert along! )

This would be for most of the day due to distance traveled and could be weather dependent. Reply here or shoot a PM to either myself or jeffswhiteSS.

Also, if it helps, I can make up a certificate or a trophy to give out ... for those wanting an "award" ... category(ies) to be determined by me at a later time and will NOT use a point judged basis!

Sorry to hear it! :(

Though last time you had just gotten the car together in time and ... well ... nevermind ...

(I really don't think that racing against me is a jynx ... though I am beginning to have a complex over it after a Chevy Nova blew something at Bowling Green racing me, and then your driveshaft last spring ... )

So far my record is improving - of the 20 or so opponents at the drag strip, only two have had catastrophic failures when racing me.

Hummmmmmmmmmm, I had not thought about that. Maybe I should line up against some of the other Camaros.

Important notice! There was an error in the start time for the Fall Brawl. The gates do not open until 2:00 PM not the previously announced 12:00 (noon).

Hope to see lots of you there!

Great plans for this year!

We had the first official meeting of the MCCC officers today at Carl Black Chevrolet, one of our new sponsors. It was a very productive meeting and we have a lot of exciting things in the works. There will be a standardized way to announce "official" club events, perks for membership, new kinds of events (autocross, cruise-ins, cruises, overnight travel events, etc) and some very cool events we will be invited to sponsored by Carl Black Chevrolet. Stay tuned for more details coming soon. Here is a pic from today's meeting (sorry Dr Love, you had already left before we took the pic)

Nice going this all sounds great. I hope we can use tithe new web page to do some of the announcing etc. also in your discussions it might be a good idea to mention the page and the fact that we can add links to our sponsers on the site.
Just some thoughts.

OK ACE5 in Atlanta has an event for you!!

We are putting on a Camaro Corral at Road Atlanta for the Grand Am event on 4/19 - 4/20/13. There is a thread in the Southeast section with all of the details.

We have invited clubs from all of the surrounding states, and hope to get a big showing. If you have never been to Road Atlanta, or a road course race, it is something you don't want to miss. Both Grand AM Series races will be on Saturday, but the Corral is Friday and Saturday. It will include reserved parking for Camaros, a lap around Road Atlanta, and hopefully a meet and greet with the Stevenson Camaro Race Team. We are also planning a cruise and dinner for friday night for those interested.

If you are available and would like to make this, please of to the original thread (first post) and see the details. Also, please send me the names of anyone interested and I will add them to the sign up list.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Thanks,

David

Hi Jan, Tysen, Andy, Tim and all my other friends. Just wanted to throw in the link to the OP about the Grand Am at Road Atlanta. I know y'all do a lot of driving, but wanted to personally invite you to consider coming down for this event!

Yeah - had seen this event earlier. It sounds like a really cool event, and one that I would love to do, but not sure I'll be able to do it ... both money-wise, and I dunno that they'd let me out on the track in my vert. Some other folks within our group may very well be interested, and I'll try to pass the word!

Yes, I can understand prioritizing trips when you're watching the budget. From looking at the website and links, it does look like they allow convertibles and cabriolets, especially if it's a parade lap. I'll do some checking if you decide to make the trip.

Sponsor info

Any details on the Carl Black sponsorship. I am looking to pick up a few new parts and when I was down in FL. the Chevy dealer that was our clubs sponsor gave us a discount on parts. Wondering if that is part of our deal with them. Always like to save a few bucks.

I still need to send the list of members to Carl Black, but I'll get it to them today or tomorrow. Was trying to get everyone on the first list, but looks like that won't happen. I'll PM you when they have it. I think it's 10% off parts and service.
