Okay guys & dolls, It has arrived! It is the limited edition, signed award poster for the person collecting the most cell phones for soldiers. Send me PM's or e-mails if you want a display to set up someplace. This is incentive for us to plan club meetings for both clubs so I can distribute them! I can also arrange to meet some of you to pass them out. BTW I want to win it too! The model Camaros are not included - just using them to hold it down.

Franklin TN Car Show 9/24/11

Thought we were going to have more folks show up at the Franklin Car Show this past weekend. Tysen and I made it, and Big Boss dropped by for a bit later on.

It turned out that it was a judged show, and the class that the 5th Gen Camaros were in was odd ... "Camaro - 1981 to 2011", I guess they lumped all non-classic/antique age together. As it turned out, there were only 4 cars in our class, all 5th Gens.

Awards were given for 1st and 2nd place, and apparantly Tysen and I took 3rd and 4th. My guess is that Tysen actually placed "not last"!

However, we did win an even better award. Tysen and I pooled our tickets for the 50/50 drawing, and we won ... think it was something around $210 (covered our entry fee, $5 each for the raffle tickets, and gave us about $80 each extra!)

Had a good time, and was absolutely gorgeous weather for a show as well as meeting Vern (the owner of the SIM to the left of my vert below). Hopefully Vern will join us here on the forums shortly!

On to the pics! ...

And a couple non-5th gens ...

We are now officially a 2 Camaro family, Mike has a huge permagrin & Ruby has a boyfriend ! We drove to Noblesville, Indianna yeaterday & sealed a killer deal in a used VR 2SS RS that only had 500 mi on it (we put more mi than that on it bringing it home!). It already has over $5000 in mods on it including tinted windows, splash guards, GMPP exhaust, Vararam cold air intake, chrome bowties, gill insets, side SS badges & backup light surrounds, bass sub woofers in the trunk, trunk liner, and I am sure I'm forgetting something. Here are a few pics & I will post more after it warms up a bit & we can get out & give BOTH Camaros a good bath.

Woooo Hooooooo!!!!!!! What a blast we had on Saturday! We had a nice turnout of 8 5th Gen Camaros at the YMCA Carshow in Springfield, Tn. Then we went to the 1st annual Music City Fest car show & drag race event. We had more fun than should be legal. Those of you who did not make it really missed a great time. Our faces are still hurting from our permagrins. Jeff won the race in memory & honor of his father who used to drag race at the same track. Follow this link to see some pics:

Natchez Trace Cruise pics

Sorry for the delay, I completely forgot to post these pics from the MCCC cruise down the Natchez Trace a couple weekends back.

Shooting pics over the top of the windshield one handed while cruising along, it can be difficult to get focus and framing right (first pic kinda shows that, but the view was pretty cool cruising over the first bridge ... and high up too!)

Hi Jeff, Lolita!

Had a bunch of folks cancel or miss the event, but those of us that went had a blast. Hopefully can get a few more folks out for the next one!

Hey guys & gals. We need 2 more folks to bring their Camaro out to the Ft Campbell event this Saturday. We really want to max out this event to support our brave military personnel & their families. It will be great! Fun events, good food, spending time interacting with your Camaro Comrads & giving a great big thank you to our military who keep us free. Come on out & see who wins the limited edition signed poster posted in this thread (post # 180) for briging the most used cell phones for the cell phones for soldiers program (If you have any you are not using bring them - they don't have to be working). Go to the Music City Camaro club page for details. PM me or jsffswhiteSS if you can make it.

Always! ... don't think we'd ever "not let someone in"! Shoot a PM over to RubyCamaro to get on the e-mail distribution list. We also try to list out the various events not only on this thread, but in the Music City Camaro Club Social Group (link listed below). Most of activities get listed in the social group, so is a good place to start!

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group.php?groupid=148

Also, if interested in joining us for thhe cruise up to Ft. Campbell on Saturday, shoot JeffswhiteSS a PM to let him know! We have had a few folks back out and have spots open!

Yup.

Music City Camaro Club and the Central KY Camaro Club participated in an event last Saturday at Ft. Campbell. We had 25 5th Gen Camaros at the event (which made the Camaro5 front page ... thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182097 )

Feel free to join our social groups to keep up with the happenings of the clubs:

MCCC: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group.php?groupid=148

CKCC: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group.php?groupid=120

and the newly formed Clarksville Club social group: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/group.php?groupid=296

A smaller group from these clubs will be in Bowling Green tomorrow afternoon at Beach Bend Drag Strip to make some fun runs out on the track. If in the area, feel free to drop by and speak to one of us there! (Also looks like we may be hitting Ruby Tuesday's for lunch before heading to the track .. though not 100% certain yet)

Appreciate the info. I will definitely stay in touch. My car is going to be a "fun car" so cruise nights will be perfect opportunities to get out there.

Yesterday in Greenbrier, there was a car show benefit to help raise money for two men sturck in a hit and run drunk driving incident last weekend. Michael Brooksher passed away on Monday and Tommy Allen still remains hospitalized.

Some of the folks in the club met up and cruised up to the show and met up with a couple others there...

Dave noticed a rather funny, odd, and disturbing sign there as well. Proof that this is not a fake, the sign appears in the background of the first two pictures ...

Charlotte Event Cancelled, Going here instead....

Just booked my room using Orbitz.com at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Commerce, GA. If you are even thinking about it, book your room now, you can cancel it later but there aren't a whole lot of hotel rooms in Commerce near the race track.
